Re: Meet W/ LDS Missionaries (opinions wanted)Semi
You do not believe there is only one truth? Why? Are you saying 2 things that are contradictory can both be true? Have you ever seen this happen? It would be a pretty crazy world to live in if two contradictory things could both be valid. I agree that some religions may have some things correct, but it doesn't excuse them from all the things they believe that are clearly at odds with how the world actually behaves. This is really way off your original topic though.
Just in my experience with Mormon men (granted this is somewhat limited... maybe 10-15 guys?), they tend to be a bit more sensitive and gentle, less into "manly" activities, and more freely show their feminine side. I've mistaken a Mormon man for a gay man several times. One great example of this is Chet from the Real World Brooklyn. I realize I'm stereotyping a bit, but I've just found it to generally be true.
It seemed to me that you wanted more to happen with these missionaries, and I was just pointing out that it may not be the best thing to get tangled up in, even if they were interested in it.
Please do not talk to me as if I am co-signing on everything mormons embody.
I am getting that vibe. I do not belive there is one truth and if there is, a whole heck of alot of people have trouble agreing with that notion. Most religions "have somethings correct". I'm very well grounded in my beliefs and what I digest from the church ( or any other church) and elements outside of it. As far as the history goes it would not be the first time history was inacuratly presented or altered to fit someone or something's agenda.
I am not picking up guys or trying to. I love meeting with the missionaries & by me being attracted to guys I tend to get a bit misty eyed over some of them. How many missionaries have you met? You seem to be very-much generalizing about them acting gay. Ive met with over 28 of them so far only about a handful were effeminate and/or gave off a gay vibe. What is your interpretation of them acting gay? All of them are nice & polite Imo No where in this thread did I say I wanted to date a missionary LOL Wouldn't mind it if it happened though
