This was important, because Brown thus far has refused to defend the Prop 8 case in court as attorney general. Meg was a homophobe that vowed to defend it in court. Now if it goes to the SCOTUS, it won't be defended by the governor of the state.

It's a big relief, although not that much of a shock.

I'm honestly surprised it was as close as it was.

She brought zero to the table and her commercials were things that anyone with the ability to do some simple research knew was bunk. She ran a dreadful campaign, almost as bad as Carly Fiorino's. I mean, I'm glad we got the result we did... I do wish that we got prop 19 passed and I'm a bit worried about 26 passing.. but we'll deal.

I saw Jerry Brown talking today and I'm positive we made a better choice than the rest of the country. He's a great guy... clearly knows what he's doing and when he talks I don't hear him patting himself on the back like I'm hearing from just about everyone else.

Sounds like California's problems are systemic. I don't think Arnold really put a dent in the deficit and the furloughs are signs of desperation.

I'm not too optimistic about Brown's chance for success.

And I'm glad Fiorina lost too. She left HP with a major reduction in stock price and reports leaked out that she ran a sweatshop while there. If that wasn't enough, I don't like an ex-cancer patient downing another woman's hairstyle. Didnt she learn in chemo that the hair doesn't make the woman?

All it showed is that she's a petty woman

I'm just glad you can't buy an election.

Or at least not yet.

Don't be silly.

Big corporations poured hundreds of millions of dialers into republican candidates in this election. You didn't really believe the bullshit that people "don't like what's going on in Washington" do you?

This election was purchased by big corporations. I mean.... Did you miss the $2 million given by Gold's gym to Karl Rove's lobbying group or the countless dollars from the Koch brothers to the Tea Party rallies?

^ Don't forget that News Corp/Fox News paid at least 2.25 million to GOP-linked groups. Fox News directly employs at least 5 Republican Candidates, and helped create (and actively promote) the Tea Party movement.

It's a lot easier to win an election when you have a 24 hour media outlet paying for, employing and supporting your cause.

Well of course it is.

And despite all that, they could only take the house. Some of the seats they most wanted to win were the ones they didn't... Harry Reid's, Barbra Boxer's, Barney Frank's, Lisa Murkowski's and even Joe Biden's.

It IS kinda interesting that the races that got the most media attention tended to go Democratic or in the case of Alaska, went against the tide of money by the big corporations. I mean... can you give any other reason for that Colorado loss by what'shisname Buck?

Like what MSNBC does for Democrats?

I'm guessing we won't hear a peep out of you about GE, which owns NBC, donating largely to Democrats.

Back it up with facts? Do I also need to back up the fact that the sky is blue too?

Jasun, the fact that you actually believe that MSNBC isn't a far-left "news" channel that's only in business to promote Progressivism and bash Republicans is quite pathetic.

Chris Matthews
Keith Olbermann
Ed Schultz
Rachel Maddow
Lawrence O'Donnell
Dylan Ratigan

What do these folks all have in common? They're all left-wing ideologues who have their own shows on MSNBC.

Laika, come on we know MSNBC is left-leaning but not as far a right wing as FOX. At least MSNBC can present the news objectively, where FOX is so far up the GOP's and Tea Baggers ass they can't tell what smells like shit anymore...

They definitely do not present the news objectively. Even their day-time anchors are partisan. FOX on the other hand, actually has on people with different opinions.
