She should be spending her time holed up in her East Wing office planning her exit, but someone must have decided that it was time to cash in on her new found pity based popularity .....so they dug up some stuff that had first been published under the Obama administration and sent her out there to pretend that she has some kind of purpose in the White House.

The White House credits Melania and the Federal Trade Commission as the authors of a new booklet called “Talking with Kids about Being Online” that accompanied the announcement. It’s just a part of Melania’s just-unveiled initiative, which focuses on well-being, opioid abuse, and positivity on social media. But it’s also, as BuzzFeed’s Ryan Mac pointed out on Twitter, almost identical to one the FTC published way back in 2014.

I burst out laughing..almost in hysterics..at work. I could stop..and I tried....I didn't want people to know why I was laughing....

This one guy started laughing with me and wondered why I was laughing and I had to turn off the TV...

...I blamed it on Amy Schumer....but I was watching this walking mannequin talk about "the children" and online bullying when the guy whose legacy is bullying people online was there with her....and the single WORST EXAMPLE for children I can think of....

It was so bizarre I just lost it...
 
^ Not surprising when you consider all the things Donald has slapped his name on to take credit for things he had nothing to do with. I don't think either of them are capable of doing what they claim to do.
 
I actually don't think it has anything to do with Melania. They take away her bon-bons if she doesn't get out there and make the speech they wrote. The fact that they are so lazy pretty much tells you exactly how serious they are about the subject. This is all just a stunt.

Melania, I'm quite sure signed on to the Trump Train for Caribbean cruises and the South of France, not jobs and public scrutiny.

It is a big deal.

And the fact that you don't think that the lying is a big deal shows how big a deal it really is.

Trump is shifting the US and the rest of the world into the era of post-truth. The same kind of post-truth environment that inevitably results in hundreds of millions of dead people.

Because the biggest lies in the twentieth century all started with small institutionalized lies like this and the negligence of people to push back against them.
