Melinda is Gone

Melinda's too good...it's a shame people just don't have a fucking clue....:mad:
 
AI is not about marketability or who will sell the most records. It's like Simon, Randy and Paula say all the damned time, it's a freakin' singing competition and Melinda was the best out of the three. It's not rocket science people.

I think they need to change the voting methods because AI is going down the tubes. I can only really see this show making it one more season and then it will be over. The teeny boppers have taken over the house and the ones with brains and good ears for singing voices have all left the building.

I think older adults are turning against Idol. The only people voting are the fanatical ones who vote over and over and over again. The number of votes are higher than ever but the ratings are falling.

If they don't do something to change the voting and make it a legitimate singing competition, this show is a goner....... mark my words. It will end up being in syndication or only on Nick at Nite so the eeny teeny boppers can fanaticize over it all they want.

I think Blake is cute.........I would do him. Also, yes I think he is marketable and will probably sell the most records.

Jordin, if I ever need to open a thick plastic bag and don't have a knife, somebody with about 300 teefuses could do it....then Jordin's my girl. As far as singing.......not so much....give her about 5 years to work on her voice and smooth things out some.

Worst elimination ever. She's obviously the most talented one but teenage girls are all over Blake Lewis.

I really don't look at it that way. I think of Blake as more like a Justin Guarini or a Mario Vasquez than a Chris Daughtry. I'd be shocked if Blake has the same kind of success as Chris. I get the sense that people will tire of Blake really quickly.
 
I feel you. I am crushed. I watched every single episode, and voted for Melinda every single time. Hundreds of text messages.

Sigh. There were only four people in the whole top 12 who were truly talented (Lakisha, Blake, Jordin, and Melinda), and even if the most talented vocalist (Melinda), imho, can't win, I'll be happy enough for whoever does. I think I'm going to be in Blake's camp, but we'll see.

I'll be waiting most anxiously for Melinda's album though :)

It's not really a singing competition, it's about who we most want to "IDOL-ize".

Blake is nothing more than a pretty boy. He has no talent whatsoever. Melinda should be the one to win.
 
You honestly think the votes are counted? I just assumed they take your fifty cents, then boot off whoever they want. The producers have admitted to "fudging" the voting in the past - why even bother with it now?

And now that the singer is gone, we can focus on the real issue - who's the prettiest?

Ryan predicted WAY back around the selection of the top 12 that Jordin would win, despite the obvious fact that Melinda was the best.

Now that Jordin and Blake are the top 2, I don't believe they truly leave it up to voters. If Ryan hadn't said that...maybe...but no, not anymore. That slip by Ryan is too perfect.

Unfortunately, because people like those running vtfw think this isn't a singing competition anymore, it's all about who best fits the "idol" image. Who has the "whole package". Unless they fix the voting and make it about singing and only singing, this show is probably going to lose more and more ratings.
