I am at once hurt and confused. I bought these new thongs, one white and the other metallic blue thinking they'd be a real turn on to my special guy friend.
I wore the white one last night and when he saw me in it he said I looked ridiculous.
I workout six days a week and have a great body and personally think I look sexy in a thong, but hearing him say that really hurt my self esteem.

Should men wear thongs? Do you guys think they are ridiculous?
 
Well that was a bit harsh to tell you that you looked ridiculous, I would have preferred "Well, thanks for the thought but it just doesn't do anything for me" I have had only worn my thong for two people and they asked me to wear them.

Honestly, if you want to wear a thong and it makes YOU feel good, then what else matters? If your special friend doesn't like it then just don't wear it around him.

I personally prefer tight briefs as opposed to thongs, it increases the anticipation :)

He bought them specifically thinking they'd be a turn-on for his boyfriend. Which, apparently, they weren't.

I think there are VERY few guys who look good in a thong. They not only have to be in shape, but they need to have a specific type of body, and it has to hang just right. If it doesn't, it doesn't look right.

Deduct some tact points from your boyfriend, but ask him to go shopping with you next time so HE can pick out some underwear or swimsuits that he thinks you look uberhot in. :)

Please post a pic of your definition of a thong, because many people mix up the terms string, tanga and thong.
 
Even better, please post of pic of YOU in the thong, and we'll judge whether its redonkulous or not :D

That's true, I didn't read that closely that he bought them specifically for his bf. But I also still believe that if the original poster enjoys wearing thongs he can still wear them.

The white one is really called a Mini Cheeky Brief. I think they look great on the models.

Umm not really my thing but a lot of guys seem to like it. I find ti really creepy when guys post pictures of themselves in womens underwear and underneath they write 'I stole this from my sister/wife/mom. *shudder*

I guess there are some guys who it doesn't look terrible on but it isn't something I enjoy. Maybe one day I'll find a guy who can make me like it.
 
i personally think thongs look hot, obviously with a right butt, since you do work out often im sure they look really good on you, jockstraps are hot too, you should try those too...though those are a little more...easy access haha

Probably a good idea to discuss the matter with the other person before you try to wear them for them. If you wear them for yourself, then who cares? Some wear them because they massage and rub against the anal opening arousing them even as they walk around. Do it for you, or do not do it at all.

The bigger issue is: is this really the guy for you? No decent person ridicules someone he considers special. I'd be very wary of staying with him. This is a sign that he might not be worth your time. I'd dump him right then and there.
 
I love them! You wear them where and when you want. If your BF don't appreciate your attempt to be a little more sexy for him go by some big ass tight whities and throw them on in the bed and lets see which he would prefer. I would much rather see a man with a thong on than a pair of fruit of the looms paw paw undies.

Some guys genuinely don't like them; some guys insecure in their own sexuality don't want to be associated with something considered fem.

In any case, as someone else pointed out, ask him what he does like. Do you look good in what he likes?
 
I think they look unflattering. Saying the thongs look ridiculous does not mean he thinks you look ugly. He probably thinks you look great after the gym, and wonders why you would wear something he does not think adds to your attractiveness.

It would have been a better idea for him to buy you something he thinks you look sexiest in instead. He doesn't have to like everything you ever will wear, but it only makes sense to be positive about it and offer you something else instead.

You must know that exotic underwear are not something that everyone enjoys. There are a lot of things that people don't care about, but fancy underwear seems to be divisive. People either love it or hate it.

I don't think you need to find someone else. How shallow is that to dump someone because he doesn't like your underwear? I think you should wear what you like, but sometimes, wear something he likes.
 
Thanks for the great comments, all. My last boyfriend used to love seeing me in a thong and would in fact buy them for me and insist that I wear them whenever we were together. It was a big turn on to him so I just assumed my new guy would like me to wear them too.
 
Ugh, what an ass of a special friend you have. You shoulda turned up the music and given him a taste of lap dance, how uptight. My op., if you've got it, flaunt it.
