I think it would be interesting to do a poll here, though of course, like all internet polls, it would have to be taken with a grain of salt.

Personally, I think brothers doing it is hot as hell, though I'd never consider it with my own. That is so gross. Strangely enough, twins don't do much for me. I suspect it's the Romeo-and-Juliet quality rather than the have-sex-with-yourself fetish around brothers which turns me on. I'm a romantic all the way.

I'm hoping it might break through to some of bigotry that ironically infest this thread, though if the gay rights movement has taught us anything, it's that it sure ain't easy.

Incidentally, it's interesting how an issue is defined effects the dialogue around it. While this thread was labelled "Weird" by the initial poster, an older thread titled "Twins and Brothers", was labelled "Fetish", and had a considerably less hostile environment than this one. I find it similar to labelling homosexuality under the column "deviant", versus under the column "alternative".

I dont think its the labelling of the thread so much, often the starting post can drastically affect the way it is responded aswell, and differant thread titles will have a differant affect.

"twins and brothers" isnt a title that suggest any form of controversial behaviour.

whereas

"brothers who have sex with their brothers" leave no doubt at all and people go into it with a pre-conceive notion of how they will respond

but sex between blood relatives? I think theres a natural instinct that we have to be averse to it. Its the stuff that, if heterosexual, two headed babies are made of, and i'm sure nature has given us a few failsafe hardwired instincts about that.

It is actually quite common among so-called "lower mammals" (big cats, sapiens, apes etc....et al...) but in some species this as led to serious genetic problems, an "evolutionary bottle-neck" if you will, that has led species to their own demise in the past.

I think as human beings with a slightly higher brain function and more evolved social consciousness that we have combined our in-built instinct for survival and variation in the gene pool, with social commentary that tells us you simply dont get sexually involved with blood members of your own family (step siblings is sort of an ethical gray area and usually falls to individual choice)

Many people use the arguement that the reason family members should not become involved and pro-create is because of the genetic & medical ramifications, and argue that with two male (or even two female) siblings this is not a danger and there for there is nothing wrong with it.

Personally I would rather rip my own throat out than do any such thing with ANY member of my family (brothers or otherwise) but I have said this in the past and people have argued "but your a girl, its a differant"...........maybe it is, I have no idea, I am not going to viciously stone to death anyone who does get sexually involved with a same gender family member but will always hasten to remind people that the consequences of such actions are NOT just about genentics & "breeding"

You have to seriously think about what will happen when you stop, what if one of you wants to stop and the other doesnt? you both agree to stop and get married, move on with your lives.....how do you look each other in eye at family gatherings?

I did not say that was the topic, I brought it up as an example of why so many people have the knee-jerk reaction of "siblings having sex = bad"
and I said in the case of brothers it is not the issue of pro-creation that is the problem, its the emotional and psychological implications that go along with it.

I think in the end it comes down to a personal choice between the two people involved and how they want to deal with the situation in the privacy of their own homes, its pretty much nobodys business but theirs (and I am not sure what the legal position is in differant countries and states so that may have to be taken into consideration aswell)

There are different areas of concern. Realistically the "logical" reason for the taboo in genetic issues is moot with same sex contact. There are still contextual issues in terms of family dynamics and how you cope with stressors. If you have a relationship with a guy out of the family and it falls apart or something 'breaks' it, you avoid each other. If you've been torridly involved with your brother, where do you go for a 'cooldown'? Same sort of question with father/son, but add the dynamic on authority issues, etc.

It's a relief to see a film which uses the incest theme for more than mere shock value. The actors playing Darren and Connor are both pretty hot and there's decent acting. The director reportedly regretted taking out the actual sex scene, though there's enough nakedness, touching, and kissing to satisfy my masturbatory fantasies of what they did off camera. I didn't like how they made the ending seem inevitable when in fact it really isn't. I mean, if you're in love with someone you're not supposed to be with, wouldn't you at least try to run before you committed suicide? Still, I'll be waiting with baited breath for the feature-length version of Starcrossed that is reportedly in the works.

its actually not illegal to watch it as far as I know, as long as its not underage and is consensual then the crime is committed by the people directly participating if they are indeed family (foster families and step siblings doesnt count, because they are not related by blood it isnt incest) but a lot of so-called twin and brothers porn existed which is either two actors who look enough alike to pass as family, or brothers who only appear to have sexual contact with one another whereas in fact anything beyond kissing is actually done by a porn stunt double.

however a slight grey area does exist in these cases, take for example two siblings seperated at birth for whatever reason, meet up later in life, have no idea they are related and start a relationship.........if they dont know they are blood relatives, are they still breaking the law?
