I have ~200.000 pictures and ~7.000 videos on cheap external USB disks and on DVD.

To actually manage this [huge] collection, I just use the standard Windows features :

1) Open Windows Explorer, right-click any media file, picture or video > Properties > tab "Details".

2) There, you can assign any tag, description, comment, studio name, director or rating that you like.
Use tags such as "hunks", "twinks", "outdoor", "cumshot", "hairy", "sports", "athletic", "military", "cocks", "latinos", "69", "orgasm", "facial", "vintage", "flipflop", "trio", "group", "solo", "favourite", "blonds", "best"... Whatever !

3) To retrieve a certain file of which you vaguely remember it was a trio in the woods : in Windows Explorer > (top-right) Search box, type "tag:trio tag:utdoor".
If you remember a beautiful masturbation scene, type "tag:solo tag:cumshot".
If you remember an orgy in some locker room, type "tag:group tag:sports"
That's it !

Note : If you copy or move such media files to another folder or disk later on, your tags will be preserved.

I do this in Mac OS with tags.

"Sociable" is 3 or more, "Forest" is hairy dudes, "King and Country" is military etc etc.

I don't know how mere password security might work, never having used it on any USB drives. But in general, I don't trust any storage solution that isn't actually encrypted with something important or that I want to keep private at all costs.

I can't even begin to imagine having the focus or interest to save porn.

Most Jubbers are great porn fans, often looking for specific pics or movies.

I started my porn collection ~30 years ago and, honestly, I feel lucky I did because most porn sites have recently gone : tumblr, newtumbl, most video-sharing forums... all gone.

Most streaming platforms only allow for sharing amateur footages. Fine, but I'm missing the close-ups in orgy scenes, close-ups on cumshots, the variety of viewing angles, the often poor lighting and/or poor resolution...
Best amateur site is/was Sean Cody featuring only men who are new to porn, shot by 3 professional cameramen. However, it is payable. So I managed to get most vids by trading with buddies... Needles to say I want to keep them very safe.

My porn collection isn't very big (its less than 100 files including both pic's & vid's together) ans most of the vids are short - less than 5 minutes.
At this point its not really organized, and is spread between a couple computers.
My plan is eventually to gather it all together and do a very basic sorting.
1 folder for pictures
1 folder for .gif's
and videos split between a few folders based on type (fuck/suck/piss/etc)
And deff no passwords or encryption or any of that stuff on it.
