The headlines in the UK papers today refer to "homophobic chants" which were targeted at the USA players by Mexican fans in their soccer match yesterday. I'm particularly interested in this because several of the American footballers play in English teams and they have lots of fans here. For example, Christian Pulisic plays for the London club Chelsea and he scored twice in the Mexico match. Also on the field for the USA were Brendan Aaronson and Weston McKennie, both of whom play for Leeds United, though Weston hasn't had the best of times there it seems. Antonee Robinson - who is incredibly cute, incidentally - plays as a left-back for Fulham and he was on the field for the Mexico match, though another big favourite, Tyler Adams also of Leeds, was out injured.

Anyway, I was just wondering if any JUB soccer fans here saw the match on TV - it seems to have been very feisty - and if they know exactly what the "homophobic chants" consisted of. The screen shot below shows Weston on the left with his shirt torn and Christian standing right behind him. The reports state that 4 players were sent off, including Weston, poor chap ... ;) ...

Update! ... Following the above I checked on YouTube and found 10 minutes of highlights showing lots of punch-ups but not much football, apart from 3 excellent USA goals - Christian Pulisic being another fave - and the announcement ending the match for "discriminatory chanting." With all the noise going on, I wonder that anyone was able to make out what was actually being chanted ... :) ...
