Miami or Los Angeles?

I'll take Los Angeles.

But what do you mean by lifestyle? Are you looking for abundant sex opportunities?
 
I agree about Los Angeles.....while its probably a little dirtier than Miami I found L.A. to be much friendlier than Miami in terms of people and culture. Both cities have a large gay population but I think L.A. is larger.

There really is a lot to choosing a city to live in but like I said I would personally choose Los Angeles over Miami.
 
Well....I'm a little biased because I already live in the LA area. But I would not choose Miami because don't like the humidity that Florida gets.

I have also heard that their property taxes can be more than twice as much.

The Los Angeles area is made up of many, many cities which allow you many choices and options. You can pretty much live any lifestyle that interests you as long as you have the money to do so.
 
Too hot and humid in Miami, but the beaches are nicer and have warmer water. Personally, I like living surrounded by mountains - it breaks the monotony of a flat landscape. The gay population here is huge and diverse and also spread out over many areas of the city.

Why not visit both cities for yourself?

I grew up in LaLa Land, but now live in Fort Lauderdale, just north of Miami. I don't have good things to say about Los Angeles, but that's probably because my family is still there.

Just like anywhere, it depends on what you're looking for and what part of the city that you'll be living in. You couldn't pay me to live in the city of Miami. Miami Beach, however, is different. If you're looking for more of a gay "community", check out Fort Lauderdale and adjacent Wilton Manors. In my opinion, if you don't look like a gym bunny, no one pays any attention to you in Miami Beach/South Beach. Not the case here in Fort Lauderdale.
 
I'm with Thack. I loved living in Ft Lauderdale (Wilton Manors, to be exact). (And I'm not a fan of Miami.) I guess it depends on if you can stand boiling for a couple months out of the year. If so, definitely choose South Florida!
 
Miami is a great place to visit, and an aggrivating place to live. There are too many damn people crammed in a small area and you can barely travel anywhere locally in under an hour. Unless its 3 a.m. And yes, unless you're perfect, don't even think about SoBe.

But it does have redeeming qualities... like fantastic weather, lots of diversity, and lots of fine art.

I have heard that Ford Lauderdale is much friendlier than Miami or South Beach. On my last trip to Miami I did like the downtown area and South Beach was nice but I have never encountered more attitude in my entire life than I did when I went to South Beach. Next time I go to South Florida I will definitely be going to Fort Lauderdale instead.

Miami is a third world country that just happens to have an American zip code.
Can't speak for LA, however in dealing with business people I've found West coast folks to be WAY more uptight and rude than East coast, which I find odd and would never have guessed that.
An example of this would be after the nasty hurricanes of 2005......our East coast vendors were very understanding while the West coast folks were just downright nasty. I'm hoping it was just an anomoly........I have lots of friends on the West coast that certainly don't behave that way.

i lived in LA for 2 years, My Aunt ANd Uncle Live There, People Are So Stupid There, No Offence, Miami Has WAY More Hot Latinos, ive been To Miami 5 times, It has Such A Rich Culture In Little havana, Good Place To Go For Some Good Latin Food And Music
