Re: Nancy Pelosi says NO to Michael Jackson

I ask a simple question from reading posts about Michael Jackson's work because I simply did not get into much music during that time and I get 2 smart ass replies for merely trying to find out from those who say he was a musical genius as to what exactly he contributed that was groundbreaking? Wow. Thanks fellow JUBBERS.

Yeah, I'm amazed at how sensitive some people are about MJ. Eh, you could take heart in thinking that when someone provides a smart ass reply, it's b/c they are unable to answer your question.

Well lets see, he for one revolutionized dance with the way he danced and put on spectacular performances.

He brought the music video up to the level of an art form. Making the first big budget music videos to make them on par with a short film. He even got Martin Scorcese to direct one of them.

He brought black people to MTV and opened the door for more black artist to get on television and be in the lime light.

Beyond that, he made some works of masterpieces in his music. Thriller is the best selling album of all time. And I think his next album Bad is the second best selling. The music is fun to listen to, well written and produced.

While pop music today is pretty much shit, he did kind revolutinize the pop genre, probably why he is known as the King of Pop. He is probably the most recognized artist in the world. He has huge fans in the middle east, Asia, Europe, Africa, South America.

When they call him a global superstar, it isn't an exageration. He is literally a global superstar. And people around the world don't really know about his scandals like Americans do. They loved his music because they loved his music. He is well known in their countries not because of his controversies, but because they simply love him music.

I didn't even touch on everything.

Well when you falsely accuse someone of being a pedophile, I think they have a right to be sensitive. That isn't a light accusation to make on anybody.

But HE didn't. I don't believe Gabriel could have phrased his question in a more polite manner than he did. Actually, I don't recall him ever being rude on JUB (don't let the date fool ya, he was around earlier on too).

-------------------
Lesson for JUBBERS--place alleged before anything unproven. Such as, Michael Jackson allegedly molested child X in year x. Alleged is correct b/c the charges were unproven (they settled out of crt. "Settling" DOESN'T magically make someone guilty. Settlements take place for a number of reasons, and guilt could be one of them and it could not).

However, MJ faced child molestation charges again in 2005. This time, he went to trial and was found innocent by the jury. Once there's a jury verdict, a plea deal, or order from the crt, the charges are no longer alleged. So, you'll need to admit that MJ was again accused of child molestation, but was cleared of all charges.

I hear ya though, I still think OJ Simpson killed his wife and her bf. But it's important to use the proper terminology since we're supposed to believe that you're innocent until proven guilty. Eh, everything surrounding MJ is highly controversial among his fans right now, so don't rile them up too much. Just throw an "alleged" in there for the first accusation of child abuse, and a "the jury found him innocent" on the second accusation of child abuse. Never fear, you can still argue that the jury was wrong and was blinded by MJ's fame and you can point out his odd relationship w/ young boys.

Re: Nancy Pelosi says NO to Michael Jackson

Well Apollo, Thank you for your answer about Michael, and nowhere did I ever
accuse Michael of being a pedophile, therefore people being smart to me really was not called for. My feelings on that whole thing is that Michael never totally grew up emotionally and he was simply being friends like kids do. I feel that any accusations of sexual misconduct were wrong, and I feel that he wrongly paid any family or families to just get the crap to stop. I believe the poor man was a tormented soul.
I wasn't talking to you with that comment, but that is what I think about the MJ situation as well.

I didn't accuse him. If you see, the post I quoted was yours.

I know neither you nor him accused Michael of being a pedophile. But I was talking about why some people are being so sensitive on the MJ issue. When you have to go into a MJ thread and have to read people calling him a pedophile all day, you tend to get defensive.

Look at Stacy's thread. She came out guns ablazing calling him a pedophile because her state doesn't know how to handle it's money. Not a fault of MJ's.

I understand an acquital doesn't mean innocence. But it still doesn't mean he did it. If you really watched and listened to how Michael talked and acted around children, you would see that hurting a child was the farthest thing from his mind. Especially seeing how Joe treated him as a child.

What is your old name Gabriel? I definitely would remember you, i have been here forever.

Re: Michael Jackson Was Attractive...?

I'm not sure if sexy is the word I would use either, but he certainly was cute in the 70's and 80's. The skin condition doesn't bother me, but those plastic surgeries ruined his face. Too bad. :(

Re: Nancy Pelosi says NO to Michael Jackson

I started out a few years ago as just1paul, then I became gabriel1, I left can back for a very short period as 1gabriel and now as gabriel1957 which I will stay as.

I never posted lots, I think I was up to a few thousand as gabriel1 but usually I tried to be humorous, especially in RL threads about the Amish phone company etc. and stuff...

sorry for the thread jack.....

END THREADJACK
I remember your gabriel1 and 1gabriel entities.

Re: New Michael Jackson wax statue unveiled

I am not sure how I feel about this statue... I don't think it really looks like him, maybe from the eyes up it does... but I don't know.

Re: New Michael Jackson wax statue unveiled

They should do a realistic one of him. His nose practically gone, skin whiter then paste, hair falling out, I.V. tracks on his arms and holding a can of jesus juice.

Re: New Michael Jackson wax statue unveiled

His nose never looked like that. It may have looked many different ways throughout his life. But it never looked as normal as this at anytime during his adult life. So as a wax figure of a real person, it fails.

I agree! From the eyes up, that IS michael, but from the eyes looking down it look like another person. And god! That pose got me rolling on the floor! What the hell is that? If they can't get the status to stand like MJ, than they should just let it stand normally!!!

Re: Michael Jackson Was Attractive...?

Although, I also found Michael strangely sexy and alluring during the "Dangerous" period. Don't really know why, could be that long wavy weave he loved rocking back then. Either way, got me drunk enough I would've hit it.

^ Jesus Christ, I can't believe I actually typed that out loud. !oops!

Oh, I'm with you on that one. He had that androgynous thing going on that I kind of liked. It was never anything sexual... but I liked his look. :/

Better than some others I've seen...
