With new allegations from Wade Robson regarding sexual abuse in the hands of MJ,

Should an artist's personal life matter in appreciating the value and contribution of an artist?
In the case of MJ, if allegations about him being a pedophile turn out as factual, should that factor in when appraising his contribution to music and culture?
In addition, should he be continued to he heralded as king of pop or one of the greatest entertainers of all time or a musical and cultural icon?

He didn't "herald" himself anything, the "industry" did and no they won't stop calling him that. His fans, many who probably believe something "weird" was going on don't really care anymore because of all the money involved. I still listen to his music and won't stop. Regarding Wade, I think its a money grab but his problem is the one who was willing to pay people to go away is dead...the rest of the Jackson are not giving up shit, and that you can believe. His lying on the stand has discredited him and the only reason he is getting tv time is because the media loves a "scandal". The only problem is the person being accused isn't around to defend himself and again, its he said/ he said and no one has yet to have any hardcore proof (photos or film or phone conversations). All the "help" who claim to have seen things should be in jail for not reporting it if they seen so much and it all boils down to money. Again, if you are not after money, why go public, why not just go to therapy and deal with it because making the rounds on news shows doesn't gain you any sympathy.

I believe everyone will believe what they want---I believe he was a pedophile because he had all the traits of a classic pedophile. If he liked pussy a guy like him could have all the most beautiful woman in the world. He clearly did not. Any adult man that would rather hang with boys (not even girls) than with woman or men is not weird ---he's usually a pedophile. Would you let him babysit for your 12 year old son? My answer is a big fat NO. At this point--everyone can believe what they want---the guy is dead. I think he was a self-loathing pedophile.

I have had my suspicions for a long time now and to this day I still think he probably is.

Very much agreed, and I'm tired of people who make excuses for him just because he was famous. If he had been just some middle aged man living in a random neighborhood and he liked to hang out with young kids, people would either call the police on him or tell parents of young kids to beware.

The 'Scream' video is one of my all time favorites, especially the fact two of the best dancing siblings in the world finally danced together. Definitely iconic for dancers like myself who were inspired by them.

often times posthumous cds tend to weaken the artist's artistic legacy especially if the unreleased music was so because they werent that good

Joan Rivers is a comedian, however, I would not use her brand of comedy as any kind of true insight into Michael Jackson. It may have been what many were thinking, but it does not mean public opinion was accurate.

I think she's right on both points. (Also while the plastic surgery is extreme, I think she looks good for her age--fuck aging gracefully.)
