I love British news. They seem to keep up with the US media stars better than the forth estate. Or is the Guardian considered the fourth estate also.
I would say anything to keep Palin out of the news, but this is too much.

Michele Bachmann, queen of the right

She says Obama is making the US 'a nation of slaves' – and her campaign is raking in millions. So just how far can Michele Bachmann go?

As stereotypes go, "Minnesota nice" is not a bad one. It holds that the mid-western residents of Minnesota, with its vast rural landscape and mostly Scandinavian-descended population, are unusually pleasant.

But Minnesotans might soon have to give up some of their hard-won reputation for quiet reasonableness thanks to one of their own, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, a fiercely rightwing darling of the Tea Party, who is rapidly becoming one of the most famous politicians in America and may yet outshine Sarah Palin as a potential Republican presidential pick for 2012.

I have read that bachmann has been putting a structure together, such as the teabagger caucus she is forming that she is head of, to run for president.

I think you are misunderestimating the girls...lol

they may run together on the same ticket.

Dream GOP presidential ticket for 2012. Michele Bachman for President and Sarah Palin Vice President, aka dumb and dumber (or is it dumber and dumbest?):=D::=D:

they can choose who is on the top of the ticket with a little mud wrestling at the repub national convention... lord knows they are both good at mud slinging.

All I can say is that her district must be full of absolute lunatics for her to keep constantly being re-elected, given the things that come out of her mouth on a daily basis. Hard to believe this is Minnesota we are talking about, and not some place in Texas or Oklahoma.

However .... ahem. That being said:

Palin / Bachmann 2012!!

:=D:

if palin is part of the GOP ticket again, Obama will regain the white house.

Of course, it will be a bloody battle and It may just grind the gov't to a halt all together.

I hope with all my might that Palin runs for the nomination in 2012, although something tells me she likely won't do it. She has to know that there is no way she would become president. She may not be the brightest bulb on the tree, but she certainly isn't a complete idiot. Hell, she knew what she was doing when she left the Governor's office, and that has proven to be a most lucrative maneuver on her part.

So I think she at least knows she won't ever become president and by running, her stock value will drop immensely when she doesn't get the nod. So what she will do is string all of her diehard supporters along and tell them that it's "possible" and that she "isn't ruling anything out" to take advantage of them and make as much money as possible from book signings, endorsements, and other personal appearances, while citing family reasons or something when 2012 rolls around in why she won't decide to run.

She figures that a sucker is born every minute and she has played her hand magnificently.

So where as I hope and pray (even though I am not religious) that she runs, in reality I don't see her running for that reason.

Ironically, the reason I most want to see her run is the reaction her supporters would have when she doesn't win. I want her to get the Republican nomination and run in the General Election against Obama, just to see the looks on their faces when she is defeated so it sinks in their minds that we are not the same country they once lived in. There is no place for racism, biased against Gays, warmongering, and no room for pushing Biblical beliefs on this society.

Theres only one thing I have learned to count on from Ms Palin.... and that is her stupidity. I think the teabaggers are imploding and she will not do well within the rank and file without them.

Republicans tend to pick whomever they think has earned their turn, as opposed to who will win. As VP of the last ticket, she would be first in line.

OMG..... I hope the Republicans attempt a Palin / Bachmann ticket in 2012. I hope they're in front of the cameras all the time speaking. The two craziest lunatics on the planet. I want to see Palin *wink* at the news camera.

Quoted for truth.

She's playing her base like a cheap violin.

you know

bachmann and palin may be playing nice in public, but they are competitors, really.

Bachmann is the one that has an office at this point. Sarah quit hers half way through and has an unfavorable rating nationally of 47 percent which outweighs her 44 percent favorability rating according to gallups latest poll.

that means that only 9 percent of americans have not made up their mind on her. She has polarized peoples opinions to the extent that there isn't much room for change or growth in there.

Bachmann may be playing palin as well as palin is playing her fans

Ms. Bachmann's take on homosexuality:

Yes, she is bat-shit crazy.

Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin should have a telethon.

Their number is 1-800-prey-on-gullible-christian-bigots

Bachmann's presser regarding the Tea Party Caucus was a hoot.

"We're not the mouthpiece. We are not taking the Tea Party and controlling it from Washington, D.C. We are also not here to vouch for the Tea Party or to vouch for any Tea Party organizations or to vouch for any individual people or actions, or billboards or signs or anything of the Tea Party...We are the receptacle."

the line.... they say I'm trouble and I don't give a damn

pure Bachmann!

Thanks White Eagle for the article.

I thought Lindsey Graham was the queen of the right. I stand corrected.

Palin just makes me laugh, but Bachmann genuinely scares me. And it's scary that there were enough supporters to put her in congress.

Why do y'all keep throwing Texas into these things. Say "and not some place in Texas Government or Oklahoma."
I will admit the Texas government is piss poor or worse, really. The rest of Texas, outside of the government, is great!!!!
