Anyone in Michigan that may want to put together a group meeting? Lansing or Detroit or Grand Rapids area? Michigan needs to be represented on these boards.

Ok, but I'd suggest an earlier time. 6pm is kind of late cause it's already dark. Some of us may live more than one hour away from Lansing. Just my opinion. :)

Well, wouldn't it make more sense to have the meeting start earlier in the day? More like early to mid-afternoon? Some people may come early, some may come later, it's best to have most of the day available. I don't want to sound too selfish but I have to work at 10pm, and Lansing is almost a 2-hr drive for me,... and others from the Detroit Metro area.

I've been to other meets before. The Montreal meet was a 2-day thing. So was the Toronto meet, I believe. I know that we probably shouldn't expect to much from this but whatever works, better than nothing. :). But again, it is best to allow plenty of time for people who want to come and leave at different times. Also that means more time we can spend and get to know each other. We may even plan some fun activities... who knows.

And lastly, It would be a good idea for someone to send a mass private message to all JUB members in Michigan, to let them know that this thread is active and this event is being planned.

Those are just my suggestions. What do you guys think? Let's start to brainstorm ideas. :)
 
I think your ideas are good, IX and am concerned that luminum cannot make a Christmas break thing. Everyone put forth your suggestions, so we can ideed do what IX suggests, brainstorm and find something that works and IX can you PM all the Michiganders to get in on this discussion?
 
Well I found out that this forum doesn't have a feature that can allow a member to PM people over a regional area. (Another forum I was part of had this feature and I just assumed...). So it would take me hours to do that. However that can be done with the help of one of this forum's administrators, if they are notified.

So as you all can see not a lot can be done with just two people being interested. I think we should go for a late spring / summer meet. That would give us more time to plan and hopefully more people will be available then. You can also do a lot more recreational activities in warm weather.

What does everyone think?
