I sincerely doubt that. Dell is worth more money than MSFT... Don't see how they could overextend that much and survive.

Then you throw on the fact that the only "news source" of this information consistently quoted throughout any results for "microsoft buy dell" returns to the pcpro site, a quasi-official blog where 5 out of 6 "articles I read through were full of half-truths and misnomers....

Where did you read that Dell is worth more than Microsoft? Microsoft is worth a lot more than Dell. I actually think it would make good sense. And it would be a merger not a buyout.
