Midwest Meetup!

JUB meets have had as many as 35+ and as few as two or three. The age ranges vary from the youngest jubbers to some of our most seasoned jubbers. This meet is sounding like it could have a good sized group from many walks of life, including some of our awesome JUB ladies. Looking forward to it being a good time, and it's one of friendship and fun.

I sure wish that I could attend ! :cry: I used to live in the Midwest, after all . . .

But, as the Fates would have it, I have been forced to move to Texas - just a wee bit too far for my limited financial resources to allow . . .

If anything should change, i.e. : I win the Texas Lottery, or a rich relative should "kark it" and leave me their vast fortune, y'all will be the first to know ...

I think I just might book the time off (when I'm able to) if it works out to be okay, with my work-schedule. As far as I'm aware I have no plans, and with this much notice, I don't see why I'll be unable to at least book the days off and have a look into a LONG fucking trip across the pond, and then some!

Well, it turns out that there's no contacts or addresses #-o but the book itself does have the names and ages of over 20 people born in Duluth. However, the book's information is decades old now. :(

So it all comes down to this - do I have the confidence, independence, and sheer guts, to actually jet away, by myself, across the world? It's something I've never done before, but something I've always wanted to do.

(If I went to Duluth, I would obviously coincide the dates of my travel so I could attend the JUB meet - another great reason for me to do this) ;)

I'll be thinking hard about this in the weeks to come. I'll get back to you soon.

oh I ever so want to go to this! Especially if the likes of 9OfClubs and Fetaby are going to be there.

I'll see what meager funds I can salvage in the next few months....
 
Okay, so I was able to get time off, without any hassle.. Very strange, lol! :lol:

Anyhoo, I'm not sure what to do. The shorter the trip, the more expensive my trips is:
I can get a flight and arrive on Weds 5th and fly back the following Weds 12th and that only costs me £374!
Or I can get a flight on the Weds 5th and go home on Mon 10th, but that's going to cost me £600+ !!! :eek: ](*,) :cry:

QUITE ANNOYING.

So yeah, I'm really not sure what to do at the moment.. Going to have to have a hard think about weighing up the options.


And it only takes 9 hours from London, yet when I fly to Toronto it takes 7/8 hours, haha. #-o

I don't know yet, but I might be heading to Duluth after the meet, in which case I may be able to take you there (but only one-way). There's always some business I can do up there and some good friendship to be had as well. I hope to be heading toward Canada at that point!

Probably the Eau Claire option would be more productive for you, though - unless you're able to do enough Duluth research to find out there's actually something there which strongly suggests a trip. Otherwise it sounds like a stab-in-the-dark for you, though Duluth is also a VERY nice city.
