LOOKING GOOD! Thank you for giving us the itinerary and plans, Transpogue. Anybody nearby who may have been on the fence about showing up, maybe you'll see something that you'll like here in the list. Nothing says that anybody needs to stay around the entire weekend. And the restaurant menu looks interesting.
Fairly recently I was talking to NineOfClubs on the phone, and the topic of shopping came up, and he had to agree with a remark that I made. As many of us know, politically he leans Libertarian and conservative, both - but I somehow started talking about Ann Arbor, and I mentioned that when you have shops, restaurants and other retail being established by "progressives and liberals" (and then I mentioned gays almost immediately as well), the results tend to be FAR more distinctive and interesting than the places which are established by pure conservative business types, LOL.
Swerve, you're right - wilderoastcafe IS INDEED the perfect choice for us. Poofy omelets??? "Hey, he said POOFY, he-heheh, h-h-heh, heh" Even more appropriate considering that a gay guy from Great Britain will be with us. (I wonder how many will understand the rather incorrect slang reference here...)
--cool!--
You gotta be kidding me Lube - yet ANOTHER BIG RECORD STORE? Minneapolis ALREADY had, I think, more GOOD record stores (with vinyl) than perhaps any other city in the United States. (Well, Pittsburgh and New York City may compete...but Minneapolis has the only store I'm aware of, anywhere on this planet, which is large and sells exclusively 78RPM records!) That one looks entirely nuts! I think there are more good record stores in The Cities than in the entire state of Texas!
I'm trying my best to arrive Thursday afternoon when LilBit does. Anybody else coming before Friday? I have heard there's at least one other person who MIGHT show up on Thursday, but it's still not known (though this is only the person I'm in touch with - there could be others for all I know, lol).
I noticed that the PM "network" includes springboksfan, but I didn't hear anything definite about his attendance. I hope so! Are you planning to show up, S.?
