Okay, hands up if you watched the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers as a kid. :D
Come on now, don't be shy.


I didn't miss an episode and I can still remember most of them. I've been rewatching the first season - it's so bad, it's good again. :D
(and yes, I did have and still have a thing for Austin St. John - the Red Ranger !oops!)
 
When they came around, I was already too old to be watching them and I didn't have cable anyway, but my nephew was obsessed with them and I would watch them with him any time I was babysitting him. They always seemed to be on.
 
I did! :cool: I've seen clips now, and discovered just how easy it is to make action programs for kids - each and every episode consisted of the same thing, being a rubber monster puppet being waved in front of the camera, and all the rangers having to collapse on the ground with apparently truly horrific migraines.

Then they'd get up, talk to someone who says Aiaiai too much, and then kick some ass.

Doth this memory of mine serve me correctly?
 
I did watch the first seasons, and also had a thing for Austin.....hehehe
There was this episode when he was shirtles......OMGOD
A dream come true!!!!!!!!

Somebody should tell him to move to Madrid SOON!!!!

Pretty much. Episodes consisted of:
1. Set scene in juice bar.
2. Bulk and Skull try to foul things up. Doesn't work.
3. Rita laughs, cackles and sends putty patrol clay monsters. Get defeated (optional)
4. Rita sends monster. Gets defeated on 2nd attack by Power Rangers using cool weapons and some weakness someone thought of. Rita has headache.
5. End scene to wrap things up.
X. Throw in message at any point. (optional)

There you go, a formula for just about any action show for kids.
But it's just so damned funny to watch :D

Loved the Power Rangers. Yeehoo. Now I want to sit down and watch my old movie - only thing is, I gave it away years ago :( So sad. So, so, sad.

Don't forget that rita would get frustrated, make the monster grow, and they'd have to call the zords.....
 
Oooooh yes! Optional as well, but definitely a regular part of the show. :D
 
..| I used to play mighty morphin power rangers with my friends. My favourite was originally Rocky, but then it was Tommy afterwards. The Dragonzord just ruled and was sooo badass LOL.
 
The kid I used to babysit liked to watch it. I was an adult before it ever came out. I grew up with Johnny Quest and the Jetsons.
