Mika

Re: Yeah, I have tickets to go see Mika in Seattle

Oh... but have a good time.

(I have to say I'm shocked that anyone still gives a shit about who he is. wasn't his only real hit like 2 years ago? It's like finding out that "Mambo #5" guy is still playing in Vegas.)

Re: Yeah, I have tickets to go see Mika in Seattle

Then he shouldn't do interviews with gay magazines telling the readership they're "boring" and then bitch that he doesn't have gay fans. I mean.. why would he want boring fans?

(I guess it's not like music that annoying could have cool fans, though, so I guess boring is what he'll have to settle for)

Re: Yeah, I have tickets to go see Mika in Seattle

I'm talking about his interview with Out Magazine where he acted like a complete fucktard where he told he gay readership that talking about how boring they were for talking about being gay.

Really, it's just a coward's excuse for not "labeling" himself.

And then he complained about how the gays don't like him. Which I'm not sure why they would... you have to bring something to the table for the gays to like you.. you have to be good looking or talented.. and he's neither.

you are free to like him all you want, and I'm free to say that he's a waste of oxygen.

Re: Yeah, I have tickets to go see Mika in Seattle

And, if I was preoccupied by every musician and actor in hollywood who did not come of of the closet the range of what I listen too and watched would be limited.

Yeah, but wittle the list down who are in the closet but whine about gays not being fans and then doing interviews with gay press about how boring being out is... and you have 1. And you're going to see him jump around on stage in his underwear.

Re: Yeah, I have tickets to go see Mika in Seattle

Here's a third link for you.

And the quote..

He says, "I don't understand it. I've never taken sides on any gender. I like to confuse people but it would appear that the gay scene hasn't embraced my sound, or indeed, my look. "I just hope all that can change in the future."

Not sure how you can take that out of context.

Re: Yeah, I have tickets to go see Mika in Seattle

I love MIKA too! Enjoy yourself. Love We are golden! haha

Re: Yeah, I have tickets to go see Mika in Seattle

I still think whining that you don't have gay fans then doing an interview with a gay magazine where you play coy is in very poor taste. If you don't wanna come out, just do interviews for Rolling Stone or something.

I mean really...

Re: Yeah, I have tickets to go see Mika in Seattle

He wears the best shoes though. God. "We are Golden" is full of fantastic shoes!!

Re: Yeah, I have tickets to go see Mika in Seattle

I don't like the material, usually, and I wouldn't know Mika if I hit him with my car.

I do rather like Golden, though... does that make me a bad person? I mean, we all have those songs in our collection which we're embarassed about, right? Right?

Re: Yeah, I have tickets to go see Mika in Seattle

If you limit your entertainment to artists that are out and proud you are severely limiting your entertainment.

You seriously just don't get it. I'm not even siding with what Jasun said but it's still seriously flying over your head. It has nothing to do with the fact that he's gay and doesn't 'embrace' it. Jasun couldn't care less about that. I don't think I can reiterate his point in a way that you'll get it, though.

In other news, I liked a couple of mika's songs for a little bit and then they quickly turned very very annoying. Especially after my friend played a bunch of his songs several times in a day and they got stuck in my head for so long I could never listen to them again without cringing. I don't feel like there's anything I could do to his music live that wouldn't make me feel like a complete douchebag. It's not music I'd dance to, it's not music I can just tap my toes or bob my head too while sipping on a drink or something...

I even understand what he means by how he thinks it's 'boring' to talk about sexuality but still think he's really pretentious in his way of how he "doesn't like labels" and all that. Nobody likes "labels" but the way he avoids his flambuoyant sexuality is a little embarrassing.

Mika - The Boy Who Knew Too Much

Just got it delivered today and I love it!!!

Rain is my favourite song, Toy Boy is genius!!! There are so many good songs. It's a brilliant album and you should buy it now!

CRAP!!! I just managed to say Mike instead of Mika... Er, what? I know I definitely pressed the 'A' key. Now I'm embarrassed.
