Mika

Re: Mike - The Boy Who Knew Too Much

Seriously, does no-one like Mika?

I thought we would support a gay artist like him, especially when he's such a good song writer and all of his songs are great!

I mean, even if you don't like him, you should still support him cus he's gay!

Does this attitude make me a militant homosexual? Ahem.

Re: Mike - The Boy Who Knew Too Much

Yeah even he finally admits he sucks.

Re: Mike - The Boy Who Knew Too Much

No, he's not said publicly.

But is it necessary?

If you listen to the lyrics in some of his songs such as "Toy Boy" I think he practically spells it out for you.

I wasn't talking about his sexuality.

does that mean you support parasite hilton, cause he's gay too? no it just makes you a militant homosexual without taste.

Re: Mika - The Boy Who Knew Too Much

CRAP!!! I just managed to say Mike instead of Mika... Er, what? I know I definitely pressed the 'A' key. Now I'm embarrassed.

Be embarrassed no more ;) - fixed it :D

I know you weren't talking about his sexuality... I was answering Effortless_Pro's post. Does everything have to be about you?

And no I don't support Parasite Hilton - Mika actually does something for a living, Perez Hilton is a waste of space who has got famous from gossiping whereas Mika is a singer... there's a rather large difference there isn't there?

Re: Mika - The Boy Who Knew Too Much

About 23 years ago there was an intentionally annoying novelty song that hit #1 in the UK (like many annoying novelty hits) called "The Chicken Song." Buried in the song's third verse was the gem of a line "And tho you hate this song, you'll be humming it for weeks."

Whether they were they Musical Nostradamus' of their day or just came up with a funny line, comedy wonders Spitting Image nailed Mika's career two decades before he was born.

King of the cutesy pop tarts, his songs are sweet at first and then just the Nutrisweet of music... artificial and devoid of anything real. Ultimately bad for you. How his career is still going is a mystery, but no more of one than how many times the "Crazy Frog" manages another hit single in the UK and how many people think Sunny Dee is "juice" in America.

Some people really love fake junk.

Re: Mika - The Boy Who Knew Too Much

Good. Now I have an excuse to post this Dutch parody again.

At my last job I had to listen to We Are Golden (track 1 of The Boy Who Knew Too Much) all day. An overwritten Queen knock-off if there ever was one.

OK, I'm going to have to post that on my blog.

What, pray tell, do you listen to?

I'm guessing a mix between some Heavy Metal and some Coldplay because the lyrics are "real"

This is feel-good music. And if you actually listened to them you, or if you can't stand that, you might find something "real" by reading the lyrics online or something.

But don't waste your time... I couldn't bear to hear about it.

Re: Mika - The Boy Who Knew Too Much

I'm not the *biggest* Mika fan, but I appreciate how campy and fun he is, sometimes. I think it's important that he came out, even though everybody with a clue already knew about it. It sort of bothers me, this attitude so many gay celebrities have about their public persona. Obviously they're a bit scared about it ruining their career to some degree (Rupert Everett being a prime example of this) but for the gay ones that are solidly established, I think it's rather absurd to stay buried so deep in the closet.

We could name names and have debates about who is and is not gay, but I think we all know that there are a number of well known actors and musicians who simply refuse to go that final step. I think things are changing though, and it's becoming apparent that you can still be a gay actor, for example, and not be heavily stigmatized or typecast. Neil Patrick Harris plays an extremely horny and heterosexual character on How I Met Your Mother, and nobody seems to think twice about that. :)

Re: Mika - The Boy Who Knew Too Much

Havnt heard the rest of his songs on the album but like We Are Golden.
