The guy who wrote "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" never went to a baseball game before he wrote the song. I'm assuming Cher didn't actually kill the "Dark Lady". And when Debbie Gibson sang "Shake your love, I just can't shake your love", she had yet to have anything close to a boyfriend.

See the word "Presley" next to Axton and Durden? That means he co-wrote the song. Just one thing - he didn't. In order to get Elvis to record your song in his early days, you had to give him half the songwriting royalties by listing him as a co-writer.

She should have substituted Jay Z for someone she actually likes. You should not put your voice to something you do not believe in. Its fraud.


How can no one see my point? All she had to do was change Jay Z to someone that she actually listens to. The song still would have done well and she would be true to herself.

How did she mislead millions? I wasn't misled, no one seems to be speaking up about "being misled" because it's a song that is open to interpretation.

Don't mention that because I wasn't misled, does not mean others were, because that works both ways. ..|

This happens to be Miley's only song I enjoy. It's one of those tunes. ](*,)

Because it's so friggin' small.

Look, musicians sing about things that aren't accurate all the time. So Miley namechecked Jay-Z but isn't really a fan - so what? She (or whoever wrote the song) knew that 1. lots of people are fans, so they can relate, and 2. it fit the meter.

Between your posts here and your other thread, it seems you enjoy poring over song lyrics the way archaeologists enjoy poring over digs. And there's nothing wrong with that, so long as you'd rather work a rebus than dance. But most of the world simply accepts the lyrics to pop songs as...well, lyrics to pop songs. They can mean everything, nothing, and anything in between.

Tell you what. Back in the 80s, Nik Kershaw released a single called "The Riddle". And with a title like that, and since the lyrics were rather strange, many pop fans tried to figure out exactly what he was talking about.



Let me know what you come up with.
