Not really planned on having anything big but just a meet of locals and anyone who has the ability and time to drop in on a whim. Frankfrank is coming East before a big trip to South America with a former Jubber and he will spend Friday and most of Saturday of that weekend with me and we would love some company to enjoy spring here in New York City!

This is REALLY informal, not organizing any nightclubbing or partying... jus enjoying what this great city has to offer and we can have some nice meals, walk around, converse and enjoy each other's company, going to a bar for drinks and more conversation... anyone interested send me a PM or just indicate interest here. I like the big meets but these smaller, intimate ones are really special and you get a far better chance to know each other a little better individually.

The first meet in New York though not big attendance wise had a nice mix of locals and those travelling in from elsewhere I enjoyed immensely spending some time with. Palbert from Maine, Rickrock from Ohio, Frankfrank from Illinois and Thad1527 coming up from Philadelphia were all great and I am so glad we were actually finally able to do a New York meet. Plus a nice smattering of those from the area... Criostoir, The Spectating Loner, FPNY and his partner, now husband Rick, and chance1 all helped make it really fun.

Hoping a few people can join myself and Frank even for parts of a day or two and making more great Big Apple JUB memories.

I'm the only person here who doesn't have to confirm, LOL - we've been talking about this Friday-Saturday timing for a number of weeks now. Very good to see the announcement. (Well, SOME confirmation with Sausy, such as meeting time and place yet TBD, is still necessary even for me.) It would be great also to see some who tried or considered the September "more formal one" but couldn't make it; I'm aware at least of RaKroma and GreyUnderscore. Dynk, are you in for something like this?

As often happens, going to NY City is "merged" with another trip, in this case a Michigan trip beforehand. Things are more efficient when I can merge two trips in reasonably the same direction.

Sorry to see your tax issues, palbert, but I guess that's reasonable (though unpleasant) and it happens to many, many millions of people...

Sorry Sausy, just can't get it together to come down. Right at tax ($$$) time.
Sorry to hear Lew but hopefully another time.... definitely enjoyed your company last September and hope relatively soon you can come down again. Maybe sometime in September I can try another meet.... Frank's not going to be East Coast in the fall this year so that's why we're doing it in April.

Maybe we can get Criostoir there, too Frank... I see him on Facebook and will ask him... don't know how often he comes on here. Maybe we should stick with what works and meet at Exchange Place. Because of weekend repairs though Exchange Place Station is closed on Saturdays and Sundays most weekends this year so on Saturday we'll have to try the ferry service or go into midtown through Newport Station. Want to go to midtown especially to show Frank jus how much is going up and is in the process of being readied for building... the scale of new projects is mind boggling. You think the New York skyline is iconic now? Nothing compared to the next few years alone!

Good to hear that you are all doing well. I won't be able to make it. My elderly father requires more and more time, attention and care and money would also be a problem.

Sorry to hear that Rick, we really enjoyed your company at the meet. Just so glad you were able to make it. Your father though is definitely a far more important priority, I know you are close to your dad and he really does need you especially at this time in his life. Sending thoughts and prayers for your dad your way and really appreciate your response.
