When I went to bed last night my post count was over five thousand.
Now it's dropped to 4,960-ish
Nothing I've participated in recently seems to have vanished, so what's happened????

Did you post a lot in a thread that got removed? When a thread is removed, do post counts decrease accordingly?

Missing Posts?
Fellow JUBbers,
This morning I noticed that I am suddenly missing about 200 of my posts and have gone from a post count of about 8260 to now 8071 or so. I know that JUB was working on the site last night. But what could cause such a loss, and why no explanation?
Personally, I wish there were no post counts, but since they are there, I am left to wonder what the blink is going on somewhere and why?

I was wondering the same thing, and I asked a MOD and so far the silence is deafening.

As Steve said, if the thread is hard deleted, then it is completely removed from the JUB servers. Posts, comments, and everything.
I don't think there is anything we can do about that.
As far as the "silence [being] deafening," refer to stevenavy's post above.

The mods are right. When the poll archive was deleted, posts counts went down because those posts didn't exist anymore. Now, the thing is that the post counts aren't supposed to go down as look as we don't run a tool to update the post counts. We didn't run that script, so by everything logical we can piece together, the post counts shouldn't have been cut. But, alas, it obviously did. It's a technical glitch that we can do nothing about as the damage is done and there is no way to repair it. So all I can do is offer apologies.
