I love St. Louis...except for the traffic :-) I always ask myself where the Iowa boys are. For that matter, where are the midwesterners?!?!

The last time I was in MO I told someone I was from Iowa and they told me they could tell by my accent...I didn't realize us Iowans had an accent...

If there are any midwest guys out there give Missouri and I a shout out...
 
It's funny you would mention that - ppl here in MO have such a wide variety of accents that it's almost ridiculous.. 3 hours south of here, ppl talk like their from the deep south.. where I am, there's a little twang and north of here.. it's in between.. Gotta love MO :D

Totally agree with the southern MO accent. I have a hard time figuring out what their saying, especially right along the border with Arkansas where I have relatives. Luckily, the relatives don't have the accent...well at least they don't have it yet...
 
I have relatives in Cape G and they all talk like their from alot further south than they are lol

Don't get me wrong, I love accents (non-family) I think it's sexy..

Well, people in bigger cities, like STL or KC don't have an accent at all.. Even in places like Columbia, Independence, Rolla and Joplin, no strong accents.. But it's just like, if you live in a city somewhere off I-55, past Festus, there's an accent.. St. Gen, Cape G, Sikeston and further..

Oh well :D Glad to see I'm not the only MO native here (!)

lol i see our 2 STL mods have already said hello. ;) we've got a number of folks from STL. there was a JUB meet in STL a few months ago, sorry you missed it. i actually did also.
