FINALLY .......

Mitt will have a Sunday AM sitdown on Fox - with Chris Wallace - who had called him out for not doing so

I guess it's officially PANIC TIME for the man who isn't loved

The guy can't break the 20% ish mark - and is now getting trounced in the polls by a ghost from the Republican past ............ Newt Gingrich

this has to be galling for a guy who prob thought he could just wait it out and get the nod

doesn't look like it

I think you mean "ghoul" rather than "ghost." I am from Georgia and I know what a shit this guy is. God help us if he is ever POTUS.

Just addressed Mitt's "polling" in another thread of yours. I think it is extremely dubious that Mitt was allegedly polling as the Front Runner for all this time, when it's clear that nobody wanted him.

These polling companies need to be investigated as I frankly think they are actually polling companies for hire. Not that there is anything illegal about any of it, but their methodologies need to be heavily scrutinized.

Common sense would dictate that Romney makes zero sense as someone who would appeal to Conservatives and therefore did not merit the numbers he was receiving all this time.

Penn and Teller did a great segment on FOX pollster, Frank Luntz. And whereas Frank's title of his book is entitled "Words that Work", I think it is a little more than just "words" that is playing a factor in these numbers.

You've committed a grave error lumping Frank Luntz in with the more honest polling companies like PPP, Gallup, Quinnipac, Pew, etc.

When you see any of the above with the word "poll" after their name, you can pretty much assume the poll is skewed to pacify their respective audience/readership. Their polls consist of their own viewers/readers. It's called "singing to the choir". Most of them also use the disclaimer that says (in small letters).."This is Not A Scientific Poll". The phrase prevents them from being sued.

I note that the thread title makes it sound as though it is a euphemism for Romney taking a shit.

The only people with real support are Romney and Paul, Gingrich is about to come down some after his surge.

Its really unpredictable, Gingrich is leading among republicans but Romney is leading among democrats.

I dont think a Gingrich/Romney ticket is likely as you cant have two scumbags on the same ballot.

Lets look at Romney and Gingrich, they are both insiders, they are both millionaries, they are both the most 'political' as they take positions then retreat from them if the idea becomes popular among democrats.

Gingrich doesn't have any real leadership qualities, he may have political savvy among republicans, but we vote for leaders, not a turncoat cheater.

Romney is panderer in chief. What are Americans really looking for? Why choose between the conflicting value structures of the GOP candidates, all of whom exhibit character flaws except maybe paul.

I think Paul and Perry are hitting their strides now, Perry has had some gaffes but there is plenty of votes to be had from Gingrich now.

And Romey has a chance here if he is really doing an interview, he has to drop the facade that makes him look like hes auditioning for a political job - which happens to be president.

not sure you have your finger on the pulse here ......

Newt is soaring nationally and in every state ..........

Perry is not hitting any strides that I can see/hear

his gays in the military ad was an abomination .......

and the media is ignoring him

heard a great line from martin bashir (MSNBC) who said that perry turning down the trump debate was his best decision to date - as it would prevent him from showing his lack of debate chops ;)

something new needs to come out to upset this applecart

republicans who "worked" with newt are coming out of the woodwork complaining about him - his style, his authenticity, his decision making, his ....... everything

men that worked closely with him

romney is a major stiff

a cnn person says romney may be the hillary of 2012 . Can you say 'entitled'?

yeah - good analogy

the best candidate that:

wasn't wanted
didn't run a good campaign
couldn't connect with voters

part situation
part self inflicted

Which one is Romney?

I think you're referring to this from The New York Times:

But in an acknowledgment that he might not be able to reverse Mr. Gingrich’s momentum quickly, Mr. Romney and his team are bracing for a far rougher slog through the early Republican nominating contests than they had envisioned even a few weeks ago and preparing for a months-long, state-by-state, delegate-by-delegate fight.

The real kicker was this line: "Mr. Romney is seeking to paint Mr. Gingrich as 'an unreliable conservative' on issues like climate change." Romney is the quintessential "unreliable conservative" and when did climate change become a GOP issue? Romney is running on fumes and it's only getting started between the two men. He has an extreme sense of entitlement as displayed by the nastiness he takes on when questioned by reporters for double talk or candidates running against him. How dare people question Romney's credentials.

The wealthy, cultured Romney couldn't contain himself when dealing with a reporter who questioned the accuracy of his claims. If cameras weren't there, Romney likely would have punched or cursed the reporter out.
