He honestly does, I just pray that he WILL get the help he needs.

I can only be there for him so much, along with the family.

We'll always love him, but we need to start pulling away I think.

Letting him decide what he needs, too. He won't just go if we force him into anything.

You're exactly right, and we are more than aware of that.

I was talking to mom last night saying, "This will never be over. He's an addict now, and always will be.

We will always worry for him, and about him."

She nearly broke down (again) when I said that, but it's the truth.

There is no cure for addiction whatsoever.

I wish she'd wipe his phone clean! Get rid of those damned contacts! Hell I'll help her do it!!

Thank you for that link. I've looked into the Vivitrol, as mentioned in that article. Not sure my brother would give up drinking for that, though! He's going to have to make major life changes, though.

I'm supposed to see my mother this weekend (she's stopping by with my grandmother to celebrate my birthday); I'll mention these both to her, just as something to think about.

I appreciate you posting that. She may have even heard of these before, what with working in a medical clinic and all.

Thanks for your link regarding this, I did some further research on the prescription drug, and found these links.

I wanted to try and find something more recent regarding the research and whatnot, too.
