Heading out. Good night Dustin and all (*8*) Happy Birthday again Dustin!!!!

Thanks so much, Bill. Sorry that I missed you!

Hopefully your Friday was a good one.

(Yes - was by the time you read this. :))

Hi, Dustin, Darren, Bill.

I'm a boomer - we lived in RI when Kennedy was assassinated - I remember it, too.

That's the MOOC I took a year and a half ago now - The Kennedy Half Century.

We haven't co-signed any credit cards - but we have co-signed car leases or student loans.

Hi DQ.

Yeah, I am very thankful that my parents co-signed on my student loans!

I don't think I needed them to co-sign on my first car loan, but maybe I did come to think of it.

It's been a while, honestly. Shit, there goes my memory. Darren - shut the hell up!

The memory is the second thing to go. Can anyone remember what the first one is?

It's Don's birthday, too? Happy, happy day, Don, even though you forgot mine.

Don and Dustin, your gifts are in the mail.

Hi sixthson. Yes, DQ's birthday is today, mine was yesterday.

When is your birthday, sixthson? It's not posted on your profile, so how are we to know?

Thanks, sixthson. I'll let you know when it's arrived.

If I tell you when my birthday is, you will just start a thread wishing me happy birthday and no one else will post in it. I can't risk that kind of ignominious rejection. You'd love that, wouldn't you? Oh, the shame of it all.

No, absolutely not. Nobody created a thread for me! I'm thankful for that fact, too. Hell nobody at work knew it was my birthday, either. I'm totally okay with that.

I was born on a bitterly cold winter night in January. According to my mother, my father was so drunk, she couldn't wake him up. My mom called my grandparents for help, but neither of them drove and didn't have a car. They finally reach my Aunt Anna who showed up with her winter coat over her pajamas and bathrobe. To know my Aunt was to know a fearless woman with a enormous gift of love. She was up to the challenge of driving to the hospital in deep snow. My mother was convinced I was going to be born either at home or in the car. I popped out less than half an hour after getting to the hospital, delivered by two nurses before the doctor got there. When the doctor got ahold of my father the next day, he told him he had a son. My Dad said "Another one?" What love, eh?

My aunt, a bottle blonde, was thrilled to see a headful of blond hair on me. I loved my aunt more than my own mother until the day she died. When she heard I was gay, she said "Honey, it makes me sad to hear this about you, but I have loved you since the minute you were born, that will never change."

Oops, I now made this thread about me. Sorry. Out for dinner now.

Sixthson,
I don't think Dustin will have an issue with that.
It's a great story -sorry about your lack of paternal support, but I'm glad your Aunt was there in spades by the sounds of it.
