Hi Darren (*8*)

Edit to Post: 279 - that was supposed to read "Cute little things." NOT "Cut little things."

Damn my poor typing/grammar skills! :( #-o

Dustin let's just hope it doesn't get as bad as working for what's her name again

I know, buddy. That was a bad situation

Too many employers expect you to work yourself to death. I remember the layoffs over the years, the people were gone but their work wasn't. Everyone else has to work hard to cover for them. It sucks, and it's nationwide. :grrr:

Yes, it was terrible. :(

Yes, that is very much a true statement regarding employers expecting too much. Sandy expected FAR too much. This new company hasn't been that bad yet. It's just the early stages of everything right now, and maybe it won't be as bad. So far, however, the signs are that it will be. :( That's very true, Dan. Less staff, more hours for other employees! :(

I miss the "Good ole Days". Lot's of staff, long vacations, rarely any overtime.

I'm afraid that's a foreign language to me, Dan.

Never have had very long vacations. Hell, I lost 190 hours of time when I left my old employer.

Yes, they gave me time off, but I could never use it. When I tried it was, "Why do you need this time off?"

I'm afraid it was before you were in the work force. It's been going downhill for years now. :(

Yeah, it's just sad, really.

There's more focus on "efficiencies" it seems than "Quality."

Whomever gets the job done the fastest is considered the better employee in many cases.

Although I'm pretty sure my clients would much rather have a quality product than something thrown together.

I know that, if given more time, I could make their financial statements look more accurate.

It's easy to code something incorrectly in my line of work. If I have time to analyze, I can reflect more accurately.

Then again, on the same token, if staff have more time they can accurately code up front, saving ME time in analysis.

Ugh. I could go on and on about this.

Yea, your job requires a lot of concentration. Not easy, or good, to rush that. Smack 'em around if they make too many mistakes. That'll learn 'em.

Exactly. Not good to rush that at all! Too funny. I can't smack anyone around.

Did they specifially tell you that you couldn't smack them around?

Well . . . not specifically . . . . I don't see it in the handbook, either.

Fuck it. Come Monday, some of these bitches, are gonna get a good smacking!

Think of this one while you're at work:
