The K&A on 20th and Dickenson makes a damn fine cheesesteak. If you find yourself broke, a block down and over on 19th and Tasker in a mom n' pop shop you can get 2 small cheesesteaks for $5 - and they use real cheese, not the stuff from a can. Perfectly salted and peppered too, I was pleasantly surprised. The cheesesteaks on south St in the weird grey building I'd give 7/10 - the bread doesn't quite hold up to the fried onions.

Not speaking about this specific group, but there is plenty of good music out there that isn't "well known." There is just a lot of music out there and with the internet there is tons to discover. I am sure there is a multitude of other reasons as to why someone might not know a specific group.

There are bands or musicians that I heard of that I have not yet listened to just because I am busy catching up with other stuff that I've heard of before.

Yes, I discover new music every day, old and new.

I'm not a big fan of 80s music but I like some of the MT songs (and also Blue System from the 90s).
A lot of European music just didn't work in the States, I think. It's hard to imagine but apparently Boney M was a one-hit-wonder over there.

Modern Talking was definitely manufactured pop, like most of the PWL songs for example - but not necessarily cheesy.
To me, "cheesy" is that horrible bubblegum pop like Aqua's "Barbie Girl" or the happy hardcore from the mid-90s. But the 90s had so many different dancemusic genres...I don't think we'll ever see that again.
