So, long story short... I met this guy online one day and we really hit it off.
We met at about 11:30pm my time and 10:30pm his time. He's in Illinois and I'm in Kentucky so, there's a time difference. Anyway, we stayed up that night until 8am my time. Almost 12 hours talking about everything from relationships, to school, the weather, travel, food, politics, movies, music, culture, not to mention complemented each other NON-STOP (as we were on webcam.) Anyway, before saying good night I gave him my number. After we said out goodnights and goodbyes, I turned off my laptop and crawled into bed. My phone lit up and he said "I was amazing to meet you. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Sleep well." And I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
Anyway, the next night we were sitting up until 6am talking some more.
Things got better and better and finally... I worked up the nerve to ask him to be my boyfriend. He said yes, and I was SO unbelievably happy.
We got together on the 12th of July and on the 17th of July he drove the entire 9 hours from his house to mine, across 3 states and two time zones. He wasn't supposed to meet at my house, we were going to go stay with a good friend of mine at her house because my family didn't know about me with the exception of my sister. But, the day he came in, my county experienced IMMENSE flooding and the roadway from my house to my friend house was washed out. So, at 12:30am I had to leave my house and go meet him to bring him back to where I was. I had to break down and tell my parents. I told my Mom that I had a friend that drove from Springfield, Illinois to see me and was sitting at WalMart waiting on me, and she just didn't say anything. She just sat there. She was like "go ask your father". So, I go and tell Dad the same thing. I told him the he wasn't supposed to have been coming to my house and that he was only 19, his family owned a company, he was nice, not a rapist or a murderer. But I didn't tell either parent he was my boyfriend.
Anyway, long story short Dad said ok. So, I went to meet him. I texted him the whole drive to where he was. And when I got to meet him, he rolled down his window and just looked at me. He was like "hi". It was sooo cute. He had his hair spiked, a grey hoodie, and some dark jeans. I asked if he was going to get out and hug me or just sit there. He got out and hugged me. I couldn't stop fidgeting with my phone. I didn't look him in the eye. :O
We drove back to my house, and we came in my back door. But before we did, he wanted to stand on my pool deck. He said he was nervous to go in and meet my family. Which I thought was just AMAZINGLY cute. His hands were in his front pockets, and his hood was on, and he was just kinda swinging back and forth. He kept asking me too look him in the eye... which is something I really wanted to do... but couldn't. I don't hardly look anyone in the eye. Ever.
But we made our way inside, and I introduced him to my family and we went into my room and were going to play cards, but I then decided against it. So, I put in the movie "Pearl Harbor" and we just laid in my bed watching it. We got about 10 minutes in and he was like "this is boring. Let's go see your town." So, at 3am, we were driving through my town with the sunroof back and the windows down listening to "Teach Me how To Dougie" and he was rapping to me. Which was also cute as fuck. So, I showed him the whole town in 10 minutes. Yeah... it's a small town. So, we were sitting at the towns only red light - and he was like "I've never been to Virginia". And I said "It's only a five minute drive that way." And he said "really?" And I said "yeah!" So, we drove across the state line into Virginia and then turned to come back. On the way back we stopped on a wide spot beside the two lane highway, and he turned the car off but not before opening the sunroof and putting down the windows. He grabbed my hands and our fingers laced. And he kept kissing the back of my hand. He kept asking me to look at him, and I was SO nervous that I was physically shaking. He asked me if I was cold and offered me his jacket. I told him I was fine, just sooo nervous and sooo glad he was finally with me. He asked me to look at him time and time again, and finally he said, "LOOK AT ME!" and he took his hand and placed it on my cheek and turned my head, and instead of looking at him... I went in for the first kiss. And you know how people say "when you really like someone... there'll be magic in the kisses that let you know it's real."? Well, yeah. This was DEFINITELY a magic kiss. We kissed over and over and over. Magic. Every time. After one of the times he said "I thought the fourth of July was a few weeks ago?" And I said "It was." And he said "Then why am I seeing all these fireworks now?" And I said "That was cheesy!" Kissed him again. And he said "I know." Kiss again. "But you loved it." And I said "Yeah. I loved it." Kiss again. "I love you, too." He said "Really?" Kiss. And I said "Yeah." And he said "Good. I love you, too."

AHHH! I love him.
We went back to my house, crawled into bed, and he rolled over onto his side, and I rolled over next to him, wrapped my arm around him, and we fell asleep in that position. He woke up in the middle of the night, took off his hoodie (because it had heated up to like a million degrees), and rolled over and looked at me (by this point, we'd looked at each other in the eye), and gave me another goodnight kiss.
When we woke up in the morning, we were turned facing each other, and we both woke up looking into each others eyes.
That day, we spent hiking in the mountains and then spent the afternoon swimming at my Aunt's house.
ANYWAY.
He called me and asked me to come to Illinois to the Illinois State Fair. I asked my Mom and she never gave me a definite answer. So, later that evening we were at the city park. Just she and I. After we'd finished out business there, we were on the drive back home and she asked me about the fair. I told her all the details, all I knew. And she was like "Do you like this boy?" And I said "Yeah, obviously. He's pretty cool." And she said "I meant, do you like him to date?" And I said "Yeah, we have been since the 12th, Mom!" And she said "Honey, long distance relationships never work." I said "We've made this one work so far!" And she just laughed.
So, hopefully, I'll get to go see my boy.
So, yeah. That's how I told Mom.
She already suspected, I guess. And thought she knew. Welp. Now she knows.
I love my boy!
