I was solving a crossword puzzle the other day. One clue was something along the lines of: "What pants must do." Or something like that. And so, my mind, filthy dirty as ever, immediately came up with a number of possible answers before I studied the puzzle grid (I've formatted the list to make it more readable here):
  • Hide Your Dick
  • Cock Cover
  • House The Dick and Balls
  • Cover Your Ass
The correct answer, of course, was something relatively benign, like "Cover Your Seat."

What kind of crossword puzzle has phrases for answers?

Most do.

All of them I worked in the newspaper did. They may be as short as four letters, or even three, like "I do."

Often the puzzle has some theme and the longer rows or columns are related phrases that allude back to the title of the day's puzzle.

Granted, I'm a little stoned, but did the number of blank spaces change? If this is a stupid question, disregard.
