Most Disappointing Movie You've Ever Watched?

Star Wars-The Whole Series. What Giant pieces of crap...

Thats About it.

Definately "Sweeney Todd." I know alot of people liked that movie and the critics loved it, but I absolutely hated it. I thought it was very overrated, definately not worth the hype. I don't understand why so many people claim this movie to be so amazing, I just don't see it.

Oh, and somebody beat me to "Citizen Kane." That was excruciating.

For me the worst movies have been "driven", was on a 3 hour flight to the states and wow i couldnt believe how bad it was.

The other one was 2 fast 2 furious, Tyrese (i think he was the actor) was terrible, the script was just plain horrible, i still regret paying for that movie....

I didn't get it either, it was just so bad.

Star wars. All of them. Why they're classics I'll never know.

You're both very young. I think if you had both been around to experience the original trilogy (Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi) first-hand, you'd appreciate them more. At the time, they were state-of-the-art and so far ahead of every other movie around. They were what movies were supposed to be. They took so many people back to another time and another place.

Growing up with the second trilogy, I can see why you feel the way you do about the original movies. To much of the older generation, though, the original Star Wars will always remain very close to our hearts.

Resident Evil Extinction.

Pretty much abandoned most of the stuff established in the previous films and had very little connection to the games at all. They should have renamed it 'The Alice Movie'.

Apparently they're making a cartoon movie about how it got so bad. If they do, better be good.

I am a young adult and I HATED the music. If that's what teens and young adults are listening to these days......:help:

Worst teen movie I've ever watched. It should be the writers last screenplay.

It's better then the pre-packaged pop crap that is repackaged every few years with a different artist, and new methods of delivering the lethal agents. I'd rather have teens listening to the indy stuff then imitating/whacking off to PCD or Girlicous or Rhianna.

And there are far worse teen movies, just gotta look for them.

I agree fully. It's like with so many of the other movies out there that are considered classics by many, but crap by others because of the "horrible" effects.

But seriously, would you rather have movies focused around the story and the characters, or the special effects?

^ Special effects and visuals aren't everything. Look what happened to The Haunting (with Liam Neeson) and Godzilla (with Matthew Broderick) and War of the Worlds (with Tom Cruise).

These days, movies often take backstage to special effects and visuals, leaving the viewers to go home disappointed and with empty wallets.

Glitter.

I love Mariah to death but WTH. Although she redeemed herself in Wisegirls.

Yep, almost walked out on that. Another I though sucked was "History of Violence", previews looked good, but ack!!!! Speed Racer, though I do have to admit that if they did away with the matrex background, the actors, the script, and the chimp it might've been a good movie:D (sorry 'bout the misspellings, fingers didn't want to hit the right keys.)

ugh the Village, what a shit bag.

An instructor at my school wrote that. He's great.

Do people not read reviews or hear anything before going to see a movie? You really thought The Village or some of the Scary Movies were going to be good? Seriously?

I think I'd have to go with Pulp Fiction and more recently, The Science of Sleep, and A Touch of Evil So sad. I really wanted to like it...

As one of my previous instructors at school once said, you need to "take off your 2008 hats and put on your [year the movie was made] hats". To really appreciate older films, you have to understand what was really going on at the time; the culture, the politics, etc. I don't really like Star Wars, but at the time, it was great because nothing like that had ever existed. When my teacher saw it as a kid, he thought the lasers were going to blast the entire theatre!

Anyway, just some advice before you all go and start criticizing some classics.

That's really an excellent point. Saying the original Star Wars movies are bad because of their poor special effects is like saying Shakespeare is bad because "people don't talk that way anymore and it's hard to understand." It may not be your cup of tea, you may even hate it, but that doesn't mean it's bad across the board.

There are many things I don't care for, but I can see how someone, coming from a different place and time, could. I don't really like beer, but I don't think every beer fan should have their taste buds examined. :)

The Exorcist. I never before laughed so hard in a horror movie. Everyone talked about it being the best horror movie ever and when I went to see it I was expecting something great...it was crap! I was totally worth it though for the laughs. Between Scary Movie's take on it or the original I don't know wich made me laugh the most, honestly...for a horror movie, it was prolly the most disappointing thing I've ever seen.

Wendigo...what a bunch of crap! Another, supposedly, horror movie turning out to be more comedy than horror...at least for me.

Again, like Star Wars, The Exorcist was ahead of its time as far as horror movies go. Granted, it would be a box office disaster today, but it scared a helluva lot of people when it was first released.

I know that your opinion is completely yours, but can i just categorically state, i j'adored The Science of Sleep. I class it as one of my favourite movies of all time, sometimes movies dont need an enthralling narrative to keep focus, its definately one of the most imaginative movies out there!

P.S. That was not a direct attack to your ideas, just a difference of opinion. Kisses
:-)

there are several that come to mind:

300
Catch and Release
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Stranger than Fiction
Marie Antoinette
Glengarry Glen Ross
Running with Scissors
Sahara

and the worst ever:
Eyes Wide Shut

I will say, though, that I wasn't disappointed with Ishtar and Plan 9 from Outer Space. Both were just as bad as I had always heard they were.
