Most DISTURBING movie you have ever seen?

I watched Blue Velvet because a friend wanted me to make a custom action figure of the Dennis Hopper character. I wanted a shower after that one. A hot shower with lots of soap.

The Doom Generation is one that I will never watch again. While there are some rather hot bits in it, it just gets worse as it goes.

A.I. This was the most ridiculous movie I have ever seen. Disturbing only because it was so bizarre, I want to say that you shouldn't waste three hours of your life watching it, but at the same time, I want to share the wealth and see how others respond to the movie.

(*U*) (*U*) (*U*) Have to agree with BuzzJ, Mysterious Skin totally fucked me up for the rest of the night, but the sickest and most twisted film I have ever seen has to be hands down a beaut of a Japanese import called AUDITION, watch it and at the end you will def be like "What the fuck did I just watch" creepy stuff indeed.

HAHA, I couldn't sit properly watching or listening to the end of that film......

bika bika bika

Awww....the memories.....

Requiem for a Dream reminded me a little too much of moments in my childhood and left me numb for several days, but it remains one of my favorite movies.

Surrender Dorothy was recommended by a weird girl I used to know. It's probably the most disturbing thing I've seen.

Series 7 is especially scary with all the reality shows around these days.

Perfect Blue is a crazy anime movie.

Parents is actually really funny, but weird weird weird.

Rope is my favorite Hitchcock. It's very (and I mean very) loosely based on a true story.

1) 8 MM - a film about snuff films. Dark and disturbing from beginning to end.

2) Sick - a documentary about a serious masochistic with cystic fibrosis. At one point, there is footage of him jacking off with blood going everywhere. Fucking gross!

"E.T." has been a huge trauma when I was 11...

..."Dead Poets Society" when I was 18...

... and "Million Dollar Baby" when I was... well... last year... #-o

"Se7en" seems to have come up more consistently than any other movie in this thread, and as much as I hate to be redundant, I have to concur. That was one twisted sick fuck movie!! But it was brilliant!! And the irony of it was that the psycho was right on the money as far as showing how society has sunk irreparably into moral decay. I am a horror film addict and about as jaded as they come, but that is one movie that totally creeped me out and still does every time I watch it.

Plus, Brad Pitt has never looked hotter than he did in that movie -- nothing disturbing about that, but definitely another reason to recommend it for anyone who hasn't seen it.

I agree...

Nobody knows "EPITAFIOS" ?... a tv show from Argentina (produced by HBO) very inspirated by "Se7en"... great show, very very creepy and disturbing... #-o

Ugh, I remember seeing "Sick" in college. Absolutely disgusting. I especially remember the end after he died, and the wife kept a jar full of his phlegm as a keepsake. Yuk!

What really creeped me out for weeks was "Faces of Death" with all those gruesome images of death. "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is a close second. I thought "Desperate Living" by John Waters was awesomely outrageous.

That's my favorite John Waters movie! It didn't really disturb me though. "Pink Flamingos," on the other hand, did make me a little sick to my stomach the very first time I saw it. I think it's the only movie to do so, so I'll have to go with it, even though I now consider it one of the funniest movies ever made. I guess it helps to know from John Waters' commentary that the chicken was pegged to get slaughtered anyways.

I think I already posted in this thread but can't remember what I said, so I might contradict myself now:

Men behind the sun

Open Water. The movie sucked. My friends didn't like it. But when I saw it with them, the very idea disturbed me for weeks. I was an emotional mess.

Event Horizon creeped the fuck out of me. God, Sam Neill in those kind of roles is really creepy.

Nice thread! I am really fascinated by disturbing movies and these are the movies that I thought are very interesting

1) Baise-Moi- this is Thelma and Louise X-rated version with full penetration shots, cumshots, hardcore blowjobs and the violence is random..these girls kill for no reason ...truly disturbing..The most disturbing part of the violence is the being gunshot "inside" the ass....Wow!

2) Irreversible- I'm quite intrigued with what people are saying about the rape scene. I was expecting something gruesome and disturbing..and yes it is..but i wasn't shocked so much but the rape scene is indeed long and there is a shot of an erect penis after the rape.
Plus the shot with a guy's head being smashed to pieces is quite disturbing

3) Ichi the Killer- Its disturbing if you are squeamish about internal organs abound. Imagine a roomful of people all degutted and shown in all it glory and you will see what the movie is about. Another disturbing scene involves hanging a guy via hooks attached to his skin and pouring hot cooking oil all over. Wow

4) In the Realm of the Senses- I was quite shocked with the full oral cumshot in the movie

5) Syriana- George Clooney's fingernails being clipped off his fingers...just the thought of it being done is quite a shocker and made me squirm

6) Mysterious Skin- I am quite shocked with the rape scene in this movie. Its violence is quite unnecessary and the most disturbing thing is ...it could happen in real life.

I will post more as I recall more but for now, these are the recent movies I have seen that are quite disturbing

The Matthew Shepard Story
Based on the true story of openly gay college student Matthew Shepard, killed in an act of senseless violence and cruelty.

For me it was "They Shoot Horses Don't They"....the sick reality of knowing if you win you loose because that it they way its structured.
