Name a movie that you found to be so disturbing that you couldn't stop thinking about it for days and even now it still had an impact on you.

For me it was Requiem for a Dream. Starring Jared Leto, Ellen Burstyn, Jennifer Connelly and Marlon Waynes. It's about when the drug-induced utopias of four Coney Island individuals are shattered when their addictions become stronger.

What was disturbing was how you witness their lives just fall apart. Especially Ellen Burstyn's character. Quite captivating, ending is so despressing. Just disturbed me a lot. The imagery was intense. Very well directed. Dark movie

What movies have disturbed you and why?

Salo: 100 Days of Sodom by Pier Paulo Pasolini. It was Palolini's last film, before he was apparently beaten to death by a hustler. I can't describe the movie without collapsing into a fetal position, and sobbing uncontrollably.

Pink Flamingos, by John Waters, follows a distant 2nd.

I do not remember the name of it now, but I was in SFO and watched a movie about airplane accident. I was flying to Brazil in the next four days, so I was very nervous and frightened.

oh god, I saw Pink Flamingos, by John Waters when I was drunk and with a bunch of people. It was on TV for some reaosn. WHAT A SICK MOVIE!!! haha. Waters rules though. (Serial Mom!!)

Keep em coming guys. Love reading them.

Seven: starring Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow & Morgan Freeman. Very dark, grisly and morbid for me. It disturbed me so much that i thought about it for days and days and that there probably are people out there that do such unspeakable acts of violance. There were three of us that went to the movie and after we got out, we couldn't even talk about it without feeling creeped out.

Silence of the Lambs....the part where Clarice is in the house alone with the serial killer. She cannot see because it is dark and he has on those night vision goggle and almost touches her hair while she blindly gropes the darkness with her gun.....creepy.

Classic Cinema. Great choice

The Exorcist and Se7en get me every time.

Oh and that one scene in Pink Floyds The Wall where he shaves his nipple off?

AHHHHHH i can't ever watch it. I have to leave the room.

No matter how much you think about it... even tho the bad guy dies in the end, he really won in every way. It just messes your head up. I can't explain it any more if you didn't see it.

MOST DISTURBING

SAW

it was so gross and morbid and the acts of violence are so real

AHHHHHHH

That movie would have beeen even more disturbing for me if Cary Ewles (or whatever) wasnt in it. BRILLIANT ACTOR, but ruined that movie. He cant act as an american that well. But I agree. Very messed up situations. Messes with your mind

Another VERY hard movie to watch is "Baisse Moi" which starts off with a gang rape of two women who, in very graphic and violent Thelma and Louise fashion, take their revenge against anyone and everyone through to the gory climax. Sexually explicit and bloody movie. Recommended for those of you who are not squeamish!

TWIN FALLS IDAHO. This movie will change you. I find it hard just talking about it.
Interesting movie. I checked it out on IMDB. Might actually look more into it. Is it DISTURBING or just really sad?

Everyone is naming such brilliant films. It's interesting to know what makes each of us disturbed.

The Pawnbroker. I know it has been around for a long time but I only saw it last year. It had a profound effect on me.

Boys Don't Cry
Who wouldn't be affected by this movie? I'd never want to meet them.

Spanking The Monkey
Humorous title. Sick, disturbing movie. He sleeps with his mother, for God's sake.
