Most DISTURBING movie you have ever seen?

Dahmer ( trailer ) - even without including cannibalism - this portrayal of a real sicko was so disturbing it affected my already hypersensitive distrust for aggressive strangers; now, if I were isolated in with a stranger in a confined area (i.e. an elevator) I get anxious - or immediately feel the need to control my breathing to stave a panic attack.

The only movie I've ever been disturbed by is one with Russell Cowe in it. One where he's really racist and for lack of words, a bigot. I hate that type of thing. When I saw it in one of my mates houses, I told him to put it off!

Phoenix x

Yeah I think you are talking about the movie "Romper Stomper". Very sick shit. But that's what I love about Russel. SUch a diverse actor. He went from playing a sexual gay man to a crazy Nazi man. Great actor

I own just about half the movies talked about here. Its fun for me to see what I can handle.

My personal fav. is Irreversible and I have a Baise Moi poster over my bed.

Some find Battle Royal to be disturbing, I find it entertaining.

Begotten is probably the worst Ive seen, behind Salo. My copy of that costed me around 300 dollars.

Saw!
couldn´t sleep after seeing this movie...
don´t want to see it again...

A lot of great choices mentioned here but the most disturbing this year for me has been "MYSTERIOUS SKIN". Based on Scott Heim's book of the same name which it follows very closely. Directed by Grek Araki and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Brady Corbett.

It is a very haunting story about 2 boys who are molested at age 8 and then moves ahead 10 years.

Perhaps what made it so disturbing was the accuracy in which the lives of the victims is shown - I know, I've been there.

I don't know if it was the most distrubing, but The Audition was preatty brutal. It's a japanese horror filick, and it's just sick at the end

Oh God, that movie scared the SHIT out of me! I, personally, think that it is the most disturbing movie I've seen. Just the way she reacts when she's cutting off his feet with the wire... she's laughing so innocently, like a child would play with a doll. Oh God, here come the nightmares again...

Salo: 100 Days of Sodom by Pier Paulo Pasolini. It was Palolini's last film, before he was apparently beaten to death by a hustler. I can't describe the movie without collapsing into a fetal position, and sobbing uncontrollably.

Pink Flamingos, by John Waters, follows a distant 2nd.

Never saw Salo: 100 Days of Sodom by Pier Paulo Pasolini -I'm not all that cultured... :D But I somewhat agree about Pink Flamingos... More of an ODD movie to me, rather than really disturbing... Surely it wasn't REAL doggy doo after all, and of course it wasn't a (pardon the pun) watered down movie like "Pecker"...

As an aside, I hafta wonder why it is that "Passion Of The Christ" hasn't been mentioned as a disturbing movie (Please forgive me if I overlooked it). I have never seen it myself, but a lot of people here in the south (USA) found it to be QUITE disturbing, and from what I gather from the news agencies, a lot of other parts of the world did as well...

I saw Solier Blue some years ago. That film has stayed with me since. I am told big boys dont cry, well this one did.

OH!!! I just remembered 2 more:
Street Trash About this cut-rate booze (called "Viper") found in the back of this dilapidated liquor store and the store's owner sells it to bums for a $1 or 2. It ends up exploding them.....This movie is so strange, you'll actually think "Am I really seeing what I think I'm seeing?"....At least it did for me.
The Stuff About this new food product called "The Stuff," which ends up....well .....why spoil the surprise. It stars Garret Morris from the original Saturday Night Live cast and I think it may have been intended as a dark comedy.

I seen One called Night Shift.. about a guy ho gets blamed for killing a bunch of women.. but he works at the city Morgue .. very scary , & the end is good.

the most disturbing movie i saw recently... mariah carreys "glitter". im still haveing nightmares

HAHA, omg thanks for the laugh today . . . good call . . . the movie should actually be called Gutter but, what can you do

"Showgirls"....still have nightmares about Las Vegas showgirls.

Hmmm...What movies have I seen that we're really disturbing, that I can still remember?

1.) Wishmaster: Within the first five minutes, a guy's own skeleton ripping out of the skin and then killing people in the court, pretty graphic and almost realistic.

2.) Downfall: (A movie on the last days of Hitler, filmed completly in German with a German actor, who did a brilliant job.) Mainly, it's disturbing to watch the fits of madness that Hitler flies into, as well as the actions of Mrs. Gobbells toward's her own children. (Her final scene with them really made me cringe)

3.) Nosferatu: A classic movie, the silence adds to the creepy feeling. Perhaps the most memorable scene, when Orlok makes his way up the stairs and we see only a shadow, moving towards the doorway....A brilliant shot, and yet creepy at the same time.

I know there's more, but I've seen so many movies, I can't recall them...
