Most DISTURBING movie you have ever seen?

"The Exorcist" was very disturbing the first time I saw it. Also "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" the old version. The ghoulish cannibals are sitting around the table teasing their future meal.

Any of the films by director Michael Haneke are disturbing but say things. Look up "Funny games", two psychotic young men take a mother, father, and son hostage in their vacation cabin and force them to play sadistic "games" with one another for their own amusement.
Also "Bennys video" where a kid appears to kill a friend and his parents hide it all by putting the body in bits down the drain!! When I saw these films I had never seen so many viewers all leave the cinema and all talk to strangers about what we had all seen.

my friend and I just finished watching Irreversible.
he wanted to vomit; and I wanted to turn it off - most realistic head-bashing and rape scene I've seen.
and during the first 30 minutes, there is a low-frequency pitch (so low that humans can't hear it) equal to that of an earthquake which makes you dizzy, nauseaus, and experience vertigo. it sure worked on us.

Greetings...

Disturbing...(because it seemed to be accepted history and was thought accurate by the incumbent president)..the silent "Birth of a Nation"....and its' view of the Klan as protector of white female virtue...really made my skin crawl..](*,)

On the "goofy" level...a movie called "The Baby"...a friend showed me on video...was that creepy or what,,,,:-$

I was forced into watching the documentary of the true story it is based on....probably worse, just because everything there (in the documentary) is pretty much true. I still get freaked out just thinking about it....

"Quills"........the scene where the asylm basically wreaks havoc...and that part with Kate..omg

"Twist"......i doubt anyone here has seen it, about hustlers in Toronto...a take off of Oliver Twist.

"American History X"

"Mysterious Skin"...the Books is amazing

Brokeback Mountain. Very disturbing movie to me. Loved it, but would have liked a different ending.

Robocop, I don`t think I even need to say why.
Downfall, I almost cried when Hitler killed his dog and everytime it showed people commiting suicide.
Batman Returns, Just about every scene the Penguin is in.
I love these three movies.

Ok; I've went thru each and every message and no one has mentioned these two:

First: "I Spit On Your Grave" .... Girl get rapped over and over in various ways by a group of red necks .... then the story gets "revengful" .... I was disturbed and pleased after the rapes .... Note: The first 25-30 minutes are kinda slow .... but when it picks up; it gets GOOD !

Second: Wrong Turn A group of young folks make a wrong turn in the hills of West Virginia and they are in for a very disturbing time ....

By the way .... You can get some Xcellent DVDs at GREAT prices and FREE shipping from http://DeepDiscountDVD.com
NO: I have NO finincial interest in this company .... Enjoy ....

(*U*) (*U*) (*U*) Have to agree with BuzzJ, Mysterious Skin totally fucked me up for the rest of the night, but the sickest and most twisted film I have ever seen has to be hands down a beaut of a Japanese import called AUDITION, watch it and at the end you will def be like "What the fuck did I just watch" creepy stuff indeed.

Pink Flamingos...You would think something like the movie Irreversible would have stayed with me more but for some reason the end of Pink Flamingos when he/she eats that dog shit...I was around 12 when I saw it and It still makes me ill after all this time...not to mention the guy fucking/raping the chicken. My local video store actually rented it to me and my friend when we were 12....yeeeech!

when i saw MEAN CREEK the only felling I had after it's end was wanting to die....

it was such a depressing movie but i liked it...

Last House On The Left was easily THE most disturbing horror movie i ever saw. It was Wes Cravens first film, and when it was released in 1972 people were actually fleeing the theater it was so intense. Probably what was most disturbing was that there wasn't anything in the film that could'nt happen for real. I mean Freddy Kreuger...come on! It is out on dvd now in an edited version, and even that is something i would never want to see.
Another VERY disturbing movie, which has no real gore, is the 1976 tv movie "Helter Skelter". It is out on dvd now, and i just got it. It is mentally disturbing as hell, this will stay with you forever. The guy who plays Charles Manson, Steve Railsback, played the part so perfectly that it typecast him forever. He gives a last statement in court before being taken away to await execution (death penalty was abolished in California in 1972) that is one of the most disturbing scenes in any film ever. The girl who plays Susan Atkins is the other standout, you can just feel the evil in your bones. She has a lengthy scene in describing the murders that will have squirming in your seat, and the look in her eyes will give you goosebumps. One of my friends who loves gory horror movies borrowed the dvd from me and returned it saying he could'nt watch the whole thing because he lives alone and could'nt sleep.

Irreversible.
It has the most graphic and horrible rapescene I ever seen in a film.
