I think it was a $50 haircut a few years back in Seattle. Once, I worked at a high end salon and I had the senior stylist cut my hair and her men's cuts started at $75, she volunteered to cut it, so I just paid her a tip.

But now my best friend is a hairstylist and, I all, I pay her is a six pack of microbrews.:D:D:D

As transpogue said earlier in another thread, price and place usually has no bearing on a good cut.

$30.00 USD. Same barber for 24 yrs.(!)

I can't even remember the last time I got a haircut let alone remember how much it cost me. Panic attacks put an end to my haircuts many, many years ago. I use one of those comb things with razor blades in it.

That's $65 US.

I've paid $45 in the past for haircuts but have found that the $15 ones are just as good and I can go more frequently.

The most I paid was in a Vegas salon just before my partner's 40th birthday. We were splurging, so I had a stylist try to make me look presentable. (I think she shaved me as well. My face, I mean.) I believe that cost $125.

Ordinarily I pay $15 or so.

$55.00, plus a $10.00 tip....

That's just for a basic cut without foils or anything else.

$21.00
it was well worth it i guess

but as some may already know i now just go to the barber college $4.00 + tip, plus i get to see cute boys ;)

I cannot see any sense in charging so much just for a haircut, or even paying even $35. I go to aregular barber for a $10 cut.
Agreed.

I go to an actual hair salon (not a barber) and only pay $17 for my hair to be cut. This also includes a wash and dry (which a lot of places charge extra for).

~$20, before color... Which I don't mind. It takes a very close attention to detail to not fuck up a mohawk....

I cut my own. It's easy when you just have to shave your head or trim it if it's long-ish for a guy (nose or chin level). I bought a used oster clippers and some japanese sheers from ebay, so much better than the ones on the shelf at walmart. I cut my friends' hair once in a while and don't charge anything, but they can't get mad cuz i learned from clips on youtube and expert village.

Price, at the end of the day, should NOT be indicative of quality.

But if they're charging over $50, they better be able to back it up.

At the same time, a bad $15 cut is still a bad cut, and you'll have to pay to get it fixed or wait for it to grow out.

Rule of thumb...if you find someone you like DON'T EVER LET THEM GO. Tell them you appreciate their work, tell them you want them to stay in their salon for a while (too many stylists salon-hop, usually the result of bad management practices), and again, NEVER LET THEM GO.

If you don't know who to find, if you see someone on the street with hair similar to yours in terms of texture and such and you like the cut, ask them where they get it done. They'll be flattered, and they'll get credit from the stylist for the referral. ..|

Yup. I like the cut, I like the glass of wine with the cut at the holidays, I like the scalp massage...I like being able to phone up on a rare special occasion and make an appointment for Mr. Bankside to get a trim in between cuts and then find out there is no charge. I like the whole thing. Not letting go - I've followed this one through 4 salons.

Right now I pay $36. I think I paid $95 one time but that included hi-lights

I'm in the market for a stylist to hold on to. It'll be about three months until I have enough length to properly work with again, after the last hair butchering. It's tough. Until I find that one, I imagine I'll be a nervous wreck each and every hair cut.

Back in the day, I used to get these designs shaved into my head and I never realized how ridiculous I looked.
I have to look for pics. I've gotten stars, logos, school mascot, and flames shaved in. Probably cost me $80, but the guy was very talented.

Now, I shave my hair myself. Simple buzzcut.
