Mourning the loss of my best friend ...

If you knew the facts about the McDonald's coffee case, it wouldn't be on your list. The right has jumped on that case, but McDonald's richly deserved the punishment they got over it.

Of course I didnt write this. I found it elsewhere and copy pasted. Its the best thing I have read in a good long time.

I dont know much about the incidents involved, but i guess I should now sue my rather poor auntie in India who served me an incredibly hot tea when I was on my first holiday at age 9, and not really having been very knowledgable on hot drinks, I tried downing it and then my tongue stopped working for a few days. I demand compensation, that bitch temporarilly killed my sense of taste!

Yeah, this could be neat, but I personally like to have the background information about the incidents involved before I jump on the bandwagon. Things are not what they seem at face value.

You're such a lawyer. You know facts get in the way of the fun stuff, speculation, judgmentalism and the like.

How perfect you've encapsulated the typical American point of view.

DISCLAIMER: I don't consider gossip, judgmentalism, etc... to be fun stuff, I'm just aware that the common American does. They're slaves to their emotions and sensationalism.

I assumed you were portraying it rather than embodying it.

Bad day for me to read a fake obit given my mom died a year ago today. But it reminded me of how she fell ill. My mother was injured by a broken elevator that regulations required be inspected regularly. The building's owner had been warned and was ordered to put the elevator out of use until it could be repaired sufficient to pass inspection.

Because my mother was diabetic, the wound to her ankle was slow to heal. It became infected. To prevent the infection from spreading they amputated her foot. And then her leg.

While she was ill she received excellent care. I am grateful there are regulations governing how many nurses must be on duty to care for patients. Eventually, though, my mother's heart could not take the strain of continuously fighting off infections.

Doesnt make common sense to quote the name of a member of a disability forum who posted this in the jokes section. I doubt they want their name placed on Jub.
Quite true.

Having said that, posting an obituary on the death of common sense in the jokes section of a disability forum doesn't make a lot of common sense, though, does it?
