movie or tv scene that makes your cry every time

mostly any scene in longtime companion,
living through the 80 crisis in SF was painful
watching it on film brings it all back

i cried like a baby when i first saw this movie.
thinking of long lost friends.

Just thought of another couple to add to my list, the first season finale of Queer as Folk when Justin and Brian are dancing at the prom. And the episode (seaon 4 I think) when uncle Vic dies.

and for a cheesier one, the episode of Rugrats where Chucky explains why he doesn't have a Mommy (she died of cancer) had me in bits.

OMG!!! I was a wreck after that episode! I'm so glad someone mentioned that.

But some others are:

House of Sand and Fog (the entire second half has me in tears every time I watch it.)

Toy Story 2 (when the cowgirl doll was telling us how her owner threw her out.)

North Country (when her father finally confronts the workers at the meeting.)

Alexander (Hephaistions death and onward)

The Hours (second half has me in tears)

V For Vendetta (Valerie's letter)

The end of 'The Killing Fields' gets me everytime.

God yes! The end does for me every time - helped no end by Mike Oldfield's beautiful music. I just blub all through the credits

Movie: Fellowship of the Ring:

Gandalf "Fly, you fools!" and the few minutes that follow...

LOL - I knew I'd blub then too. I blubbed when I was reading the book But the bit that really does for me is the bit when Aragorn tells the three hobbits they 'bow to no-one'... I blubbed in the cinema at that

If anyone has read the books, the final paragraphs before the Appendices took me sooo long to read 'cos I was blubbing so much.

And I don't know why - raw emotion I guess - but I fill up during the scene that follows the beacons being lit, and when Aragorn bursts through the doors and says "The beacons are lit - Gondor calls for aid!" - that's me blubbing away for sure!

Tolkien and Jackson are fantastic at grabbing you by the heart and squeezing. Tolkien's mastery of the English language is just beautiful. I love reading his work


But films...

How about John Coffey's execution in 'The Green Mile'?

or when Scout finally meets Boo Radley in 'To Kill A Mockingbird'?

or how about realising you've paid good money to sit through Tom Cruise and Co slaughter 'War of the Worlds'? Made me cry

Philadelphia came out the year my first (and only) boyfriend passed away from AIDS related complications. I made the mistake of seeing the movie at a theater. Thank God I had several friends with me.

The final scene with Neil Young's Philadelphia playing was the first scene that ever made me cry. I was only 12 when I saw it and I didn't realize that I was gay but I really connected with the character. I think I have seen the movie 4 or 5 times since...

Buffy when Annya goes on about Joyce... that was sad.

God, I agree with that one. Hell, that entire episode was so hard to watch.
Another scene that gets me is when Buffy tells Dawn about their mother's death and the students and teacher look through the window, then Dawns falls to the floor.

I also cried during the season finale of Grey's Anatomy and the season finale of Ghost Whisperer when we find out the truth about Aisha Tyler's character.

There are plenty more I can't remember at the moment.

I bawl my eyes out when In buffy , she kills angel , and in the season 5 finale where she sacrifices herself so her sister can live and the speech she does following " they need you now " and the series finale , amn i bawl like a baby at the end knowing that everything turned out for the best and buffy finnaly inst alone anymore!

and i saw the hilary duff movie "raise your voice" today man is that movie sad , exspecially when sahe sees the video her dead brother made for her

The scene in Love, Valor, Compassion starting with the phone call that the sister has died.

The episode of E.R. where the doctor (both the actor and the character's names escape me at the moment) dies of brain cancer.

Like MattieMich, Schindler's List almost from beginning to the end.

Requiem for a Dream, the scene where Mrs. Goldfarb tells her son that she's old and lonely.

Boy, 'Requiem' comes up over and over on these boards on various threads.
It obviously 'gets to' a lot of people, myself included.

The last time I watched it was with a *really* good 5.1 stereo system,
and that scene with the refrigerator, (you know the one) is nothing short of terrifying.

I haven't been able to watch it since.
