the shame of crying usually overrides all those cry-induciting emotions when i'm watching a cry-inducing film. even when i'm watching a sad movie alone and there's no one to tease me about crying, if i start to tear up all i can think is "man, you are such a pussy."

sometimes, i just want to let it all out...

poor simba! why did mufasa have to die?? why???

Can't remember which movies make me cry there are many, many. I did cry last friday nite watching Ghost Whisperers, and th en Close to Home had a gay ending and very well done.

I just remembered a few...

Fluke, when the dog dies :(
AirBud, when the boy has to leave airbud behind ;(
Homeward bound... When Shadow acts like he is going to give up :(
Home on the Range (LOL), when Mrs. Calaway has a fight with Roseanne's cow, and then they say they aren't going to try to save little patch of heaven :(

Okay, Okay....

And 'Charlotte's Web', too.... When Charlotte dies after
singing 'Mother Earth and Father Time' to Wilbur.... :(

There ! I said it !

Don't judge me ! [-X :-)

I cry in tons of movies as I'm a wimp, but the most recent ones that hit me really hard were 'The Notebook' and 'Click'.

8 secounds gets me everytime, when Lane frost dies and Tuff and Lanes wife are talking about the upcoming rodeo where they are doing a memorial to Lane. And then at the very end when Tuff rides his bull for 8 secounds and stays on for another 8 in memory of Lane. It was like he was riding Lanes last ride. Okay just thinking about is getting me teary eyes. I'm such a girl. (sniff, sniff)

That movie made me cry, too.

Oh my god! I thought I was the only one that sentimental. !oops! There are some of the older phone commercials especially about keeping in touch with kin and friends that could get me teared up. Just triggered some old memory in me I guess.

Telstra (or it might have been Telecom back then) had a commercial "Memories" that ran for a long time here. And yes, what a tear jerker that was!

British Airways also ran an add years ago when I lived in NZ that was along a similar theme. They even received complaints from people because the add was upsetting their parents or grand-parents too much.

As for movies, I cry at the drop of a hat as soon as there is something in there about a relationship starting or ending which pretty well somes up most films. First and foremost among them are:

Out Of Africa
Ordinary People
Brokeback Mountain
Sophie's Choice

I cry at most anything, but the tears flow when I watch certain movies.

Joy Luck Club-the scene where the dad gives his daughter the feather

Steel Magnolias-when Shelby dies and Sally Fields runs out to get her grandson

The Color Purple-when Nettie comes back and her purple shawl floats up in the wind. "Netttttiiiiieeeee!" "Ceeeellllliie"

Boy's Town-the end scene when the father carries the little boy out front of the home

I Remember Mama-the whole flippin' movie makes me tear up.

My Life
Steel Magnolias

There was an episode of Oprah a while back where a guy told about how he had to jump start his car with his wife's before work. He was in a hurry and accidentally left her car running in the garage. He returned home after being unable to get ahold of her. She was dead. He sobbed while telling the story. I was crying also. I felt sorry for the poor guy. Very sad.

Hell, I've cried reading Hallmark greeting cards. But some of the movies that really got me crying:

Return to Paradise
My Life as a House
Pay it Forward
Rent
The Dangerous Life of Altar Boys

Very few movies actually make me cry, so I always know which ones manage, as it's rare. Essentially we're talking about 'Marvin's Room' (the carny boyfriend story), 'Playing By Heart' (the end of Mark and Mildred's stroyline), and 'The Blackwater Lightship' (when Granny quietly asks "you'll tell him we're praying for him?") - get me every time!

Lately,I've been crying or at least tearing up at everything.....do you get more emotional as you get older????

I always cry when I watch Terms of Endearment...it reminds me of losing my mom to cancer.....

Whenever anyone does anything SELFLESS to help another person,it makes me cry....I never used to be like this.

I'm blaming therapy.

:)

Brokeback Mountain
Lion King
Memoires of a Geisha
Forrest Gump
Beautiful Thing
Latter Days
Chronicals of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe

Ahh.. The Notebook. Good piece.

ET
Beaches
Just Like Heaven
For The Boys
Moulin Rouge
Beautiful Thing
A Thai film named NangNak

There are films I actually put in from time to time if I've been really stressed because I KNOW they will make me go there and get some release:

The Color Purple--too many scenes to count
Schindler's List--specifically, the scene with the ring and the escape at the end
Frequency--when he cries talking to his father
Finding Neverland--peter pan scene and bench scene at end
Hamlet--Ophelia's scene (Kate Winslet again)
Field of Dreams--just the catch scene at the end
The Green Mile--former student had just died two days prior, so ending really gets me
Beaches--pick a scene
Brokeback Mountain--shore, shirt, postcard--'nuff said

The Notebook--Remember when co-workers told me they sobbed. I was watching and thinking, "Why is this movie supposedly so sob-inducing?" Then got to the end and blubbered for a good ten minutes after the movie was over. So glad i was home alone when I watched that one.

There are other movies that have made me cry, but these are the ones that still get me upon repeated viewing.

I had a few tears after watching 'Chasing Liberty' but I think it was because of a hormone imbalance rather than it being a sad movie.

Other than that it has been ages since I cried in a movie... I remember crying in 'Dancer In The Dark' and 'Dead Man Walking'.
