  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Movies that make you cry.

Field Of Dreams. The scene where his Dead Dad comes back to play baseball with him had me bawling in the theatre. It hit so close to home.

Au Hasard Balthazar

I viewed Au Hasard Balthazar a while ago based on an old "sad movies" thread here in HT. Maybe you had remarked about it? I can't remember.

Anyway, I'd be reluctant to recommend it broadly to all audiences. I certainly appreciated it. But I think many might find it too elliptical, or laden with religious symbolism, to punch across time and culture. That being said, that this film made you cry seems like a specific sort of thing to say, and I appreciate the choice. :)

I cried during bridge to terebithia. The idea of losing your favourite person was crushing to me.

Oh, god, YES. Never expected it, either. Right in the FEELS!

Wow. This thread has turned up some many great films.

Atonement, Nights of Cabiria and Prayers for Bobby are wonderful wonderful films!

Latter Days also made me teary.

Giulietta Masina was amazing. I'm so glad that people here know her movies.

Latter Days because of joy that they found each other in the end, and Prayers for Bobby because I understand the pain all too well.

I probably shouldn't overlook the heartbreak of Pather Panchali, right now.

I just remembered...not really movies but these two made me cry...a lot...like a baby. The first one I saw with a big crowd of people and I was choking really hard trying to fight the tears...and that made it worse....pretty much everyone in the room was bawling....

...and then this one.....DAMN...

I think when I watch this it will make me cry.
Finally released River Phoenix last movie.
