Movies that need sequels?

None. The sequel craze is one of the worst things that ever happened to films.
 
Serenity. And aforementioned - The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, The Golden Compass and District 9.
 
I found some sequals are being released this year, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Here are the ones that I found that are being made into sequals.

Goonies 2, yes they are reuniting the cast to do the movie and it is in the works.

Ghost Busters 3 where the orginal casts will reunite handing off the torch to the new blood. Rumors to be the young ones are rumored to be Anna farris, Eliza Dushku and Bill Hader.

The Hobbitt as the prequal to the Lord of the Rings.


American Pie with the casts from the first two movies as 10 years later.

Bourne prequal without Matt Damon which takes place years before the role Matt had oin the franchise.

Daredevil without Ben Affleck.

Fantastic Four reboot with all new actors.

Jurassic Park will have another one coming out.

28 Moinths Later of the third in the series.

Independence Day 2 will be coming also.

Men In Black 3

Batman 3rd movie with Christian Bale.

National Lampoon's Vacation with Chevy Chase back as Grandpa.

Police Academy 8 is being filmed as we speak.

Spiderman 4 with all new casts which would be a prequal.

Superman with a new actor as the man of steal.

Phiranha will have a new film coming soon.

Oh whatever. Way too many sequals and remakes in the works which is hard to keep up and no new scripts or movies without remakes. Are they lazy or what?
 
They can't make a sequel to Eragon because they fucked up the first one so bad. The movie had nothing to do with the books, so the story would make no sense if they tried to continue it. Plus the first one just plain sucked.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with sequels in and of themselves. Sometimes a story is not complete after the first installment, so a sequel is necessary to continue the plot line. Just because a movie is great, doesn't mean it is satisfying or complete on its own. What if Star Wars Episode IV had never had a sequel? The trouble only comes when terrible sequels are made for the sole purpose of cashing in on the original movie's popularity, whether that movie needed a sequel or not, such as the Santa Clause 2 and 3. But even if they are made for this reason, the sequels are often good additions to the title. For example, Toy Story didn't need a sequel, but it ended up with two, which were both good movies. As long as sequels are done right, they are a very good thing.
 
I agree that there is nothing wrong with sequels, but I just hate how everything nowadays is expected to have a sequel.
 
As you can see from my list, some of the movies did came out.
ghostbuster 3 is dead because Bill Murray hated the script.
Gremlins 3 will not happen.

Lost Boys 2 came out with the original casts who were not vampires.
 
How about Poltergeist 3:
They can cast Drew Barrymore as Carol Anne grown up and make it more comedic and romantic, a romance between Carol Anne and a love ghost! It'll make millions!

I never liked Shrek, except the last one because of the fabulous Rumpelstiltskin - so he should have his own spin-off movie.
