They could do a brilliant modern version of "The Running Man" - what with reality and extreme TV being at its peak at the moment.

I actually wrote a 3 page "treatment" for it a few years ago, and its sitting in my portfolio waiting until I get an agent. So, in other words, it'll never be seen! lol

I would love to see an updated version of The Breakfast Club. Although it is a classic itself, it is somewhat dated and could be rejuvenated if brought up the the current year, without losing everything that made it a classic.

I have to respectfully and strongly disagree with you. The characters in The Breakfast Club are same in every generation. That is what makes it a classic because we've all went to school with those people. If they re-made it, it would be nothing but Dawson's Creek: The Movie. Yikes!

Ghost in the Shell. If it's done right. BIG IF. The potential for fucking it up would be huge, but if it worked could be awesome.

a scene for scene remake of 'east of eden' [1955] and ben mc kenzie to play cal, the james dean part.

There is a sequel to it. Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. Its an alright movie. I dont think it has been released with english dubbing, only subtitles.

I would love to see a modern version of Reefer Madness. Call me a stoner or w/e but it is just a downright funny movie. Reckon they tried to colorize it which is horrible. I could see a lot of potential to screw it up but they have to keep the serious side to it or else it wouldnt be great.

Clue .... I love the original and I am sure I would love a remake.

I just want to see History of the World : Part II. :D
Screw remakes. SEQUELS DAMNIT!

There's an old sci-fi pic, The Next Voice You Hear. It suffered by being too "1950's".

I think a re-make of this is in order.

.

There's also a third movie, as well as the Stand Alone Complex anime series. They rock, and a live action if done right wiould be incredible, and may even get me letting them attepmt Akira.

I'd like to see Bonfire of the Vanities re-done with a cast more like the characters in the novel. (on second thoughts I'll just remain a little bitter at Brian De Palma for fucking it up in the first place)

How about 'Digby, Biggest Dog in the World'? or 'Pete's Dragon' (tho probably won't be as cute with a proper cgi dragon)

Would you still have it set in the 80's or would you want it updated and take place in the present? Because the book was written as a kind of condemnation of 80's greed.

I read and enjoyed the book, and I even liked the movie. It was so ridiculous and Melanie Griffith made me laugh. "Oh no...natives!" rotf

Have you ever read 'The Devil's Candy'?

TRANSFORMERS!!!!!! (j/k, it's awesome as it is, but we need at least another 3 sequels)

Batman Begins. It was a nice movie, minus Katie Holmes and the guy who played Batman (can't recall his name right now) and a few flaws in the storyline.

I'm a huge fan of submarine movies, so I guess 'Das Boot' could be made really big again (in the right hands, with the right cast and the right soundtrack).

And I'd love to see a 'Blue Submarine No. 6' live action movie, and possibly a 'Submarine 707 Revolution' one. 'Visions of Escaflowne', 'Akira' and 'Heavy Metal' would be awesome too (in the right hands, with the right cast and the right soundtrack - lol).

The Predator movies should be updated too. Just replace Arnie with someone younger / sexier, like... Jason Statham. :D

I would love to see "Big Trouble in Little China" remade :]

I would love an updated version of Bonnie & Clyde. The original was great, but I think a modern twist would be good. Reese Witherspoon as Bonnie?

Clue need not be touched!

I've always wanted an updated version of Barbarella. The 1968 movie was made during the 60's sexual revolution. Having an updated version would be amusing to reflect how our cultures have changed sexually so much in the past 40 years. And it wasn't received very well, so there is plenty of room for improvement. I'm thinking Jennifer Aniston would make a terrific Barbarella. She could easily pass as a young Jane Fonda.
