mp4 Video Converter Help!

Hi guys!

I’m in a bit of a pickle. Bought myself an mp3 player a few weeks ago, a Coby Mp 705 4g. I’ve tried to upload videos over and over and I get the same error message Invalid Format. I’ve then tried downloading different converters (avi/mtv) it still won’t work for me. Maybe you’ll know something new to try that I don’t! Most of my vid’s are already AVI.

P.s. everything else works fine, never had a problem bf this.

Did you read the manual to see what formats it supports?

I've never heard of the Coby Mp 705 4g. but I assume that after a quick Google search it only supports MPEG-4. So you need to find something that will convert your AVI files to MPEG-4 (MP4). Good luck.

Your player supports XviD-encoded AVI files with the
following specifications:
220 x 176 resolution at 30 frames per second (fps).

If you don't like the supplied conversion software, try Handbrake.

Okay thanks for your advice ....I've gotten out the instruction manual and read and reread. I think I may have cracked it! I've tried it before but I didn't really give it a chance. So now I'm going a little slower and paying more attention! Crossing my fingers!

Update: It works! yes I got it to work! Thank you guys for your help! I just sat down and fooled around with it until I got on the right track and....now it works!
