Hello everyone!

For those of you "in the know"... I have a question about Microsoft Word 2007.

Every time I start Word 2007, and start to type, it automatically adds an extra space after I hit the enter button. To resolve this, I have to press a button on the toolbar (Tool Ribbon it's called now, I guess) called "Remove Space After Paragraph".

This solves the issue temporarily.
My question is- how do I prevent Word 2007 from doing this AT ALL? For me, it's quite annoying.

Thank-you everyone for your assistance!

EDIT: I tried to post a link to a screen shot- but it seems this website is banned from both Photobucket AND Imageshack? What's that all about? How do I post a screenshot? Thanks for answering both questions.

I can't answer your first question, as I don't use MSOffice.

As to your second question, Photobucket and Imageshack both prohibit the linking of pornography (It's a Protestant thing). After several thousand JUBbers have violated these rules, the picture-sharing sites just block any linking whatsoever to JUB itself. There aren't very many picture-sharing sites left that allow linking to JUB.

You need to upload the pics as attachments to your JUB profile. (Unfortunately, size limits on JUB mean you can only have a few pictures at any given time linked to your posts).

Thank-you VERY much for answering my second question, Jannus. I was wondering about the Photobucket/Imageshack thing.

Okay... any takers on the 1st question?

The answer is to set up a new default template for your document. I would just type the same stuff as in words help here, so I will not bother.

Just check the its help or search in the help for modifying the templates.

Hmmm...

I did modify the default template, and even set the line spacing as the "default" when prompted.

Thanks anyway!

Anyone else?

Try clicking the arrow at the bottom right corner of the paragraph spacing button the ribbon and put a tick in the "don't add space after paragraphs of the same style" option to see if that helps.

not to thread jack, but is there a way i can put the spell check on the page page, instead of hitting the review tab, then spell check? its a pain to keep switching.

You can have the spell checker button appear on the quick access toolbar so that it is easier to get at.

Click on the Word button and select Customise and you can then add what ever options you want to the access bar. Or if you have the access bar already showing right click and select the options you want to appear.

I don't have Office 2007 yet, but when I dont' want the doublespacing Enter, I use Shift+Enter.

It works in other applications as well.
