And now that government is up and running...there is no remaining blockage of the lay-bys.

On a page by another member he has a tagline about it and it is not true . Like many things it was closed during the republican idiots shut down. But if you google Mt Rushmore you will see republican blogs that claim it is still going on those blogs used the sheet to get there wrong point across. Sorry of I upset people
 
This is one of the more bizarre urban legends I've heard in recent years.

1. It is very easy to disprove it; I would guess that people/tourists didn't just stop going to South Dakota during the shutdown any more than normal seasonal variations would, except during part of the period where the blizzard made it difficult.
2. If the government was shut down, and only doing "essential" services, how could this possibly be essential?
3. The highway facing Mt. Rushmore is a public highway [South Dakota route 244], not a highway run by the Department of the Interior.

If you look carefully you can see Obama flying a helicopter. The Muslim flag sheet he wanted wasn't ready at the time.

If all else fails, the DoD is considering dropping a small tactical nuclear device into the geyser to see if that might work. As they say, we haven't even tried it yet, so we don't know whether or not it will work. We won't know if it is a good idea until we try it out.

The sheet is a very poor attempt in photoshop.

However, the traffic cones are real and kept people from looking at Mount Rushmore. Crazy.

Almost like as crazy as Obama saying that republicans where holding a gun to his head.

Which is crazier? A fake sheet or a fake gun? Sheets don't kill.

I wonder if they had security cameras keeping an eye on the traffic cones. I would have been sorely tempted to pick them up and relocate them somewhere more entertaining.
