Murfreesboro, Tennessee Banned Public Homosexuality

People shouldn't be too comfortable though.

I believe some states had anti-abortion laws already on the books and as long as Roe stood...they were like the anti-sodomy laws.

And then Trump was elected. And all the conservative justices basically admitted they had lied in their confirmation hearings and overturned it.

Yes, and we do have to be vigilant for actions, but the writ means nigh nothing when a bunch of other old obsolete laws also remain on the books.

Tennessee has lots of smart people within her borders, and over 40% of them voted Democrat in 2020. Here is a snippet from the County's election website, a detail of the presidential race in 2020:

I trust a sufficient number of those 60,000 voters, plus a few smarter Republicans, will be actively working to stand up for being gay, for their sons and brothers who are. Nashville is a metropolitan area, with no shortage of gay men all around. We should also remember that Dollywood is not that far from Nashville, and her support of gays has indeed caused many who admire her philanthropy to examine their homophobia there in Tennessee.

This issue is likely to resolve itself with a court challenge and nullification. Time will tell.

I lived in Arkansas in the 1980's when Governor Frank White approved the Creation Science bill which requirSued its teaching in Arkansas schools. The law was soon challenged and shot down handily by the Supreme Court challenges. It never impacted any science major's ability to study evolution, but it made for great lampoon fodder, justifiably. To make matters worse, the governor claimed to have never read the bill before signing it. Cowardice did not improve his ratings.

We have similar here. Just a kerfuffle in the culture wars. Shameful, but non-impactful. Indecency will be defined without it, and "Pride" parades will clean up their public displays and life will go on.

It's ok @opinterph has assured me that they hit their diversity quota so I'm sure this is just a fluke for an otherwise tolerant, educated and cultured population.

I previously listed 6 items that accurately describe Murfreesboro, including “The city is ethnically diverse.”

Murfreesboro is an extremely ethnically-diverse city.

Murfreesboro, TN
Real Estate & Demographic Data

Remarking that the city is ethnically-diverse has nothing to do with quotas, past demographics for the same area, or what you refer to as “racial Utopia.” Please also take notice that I have not offered any assurances to you regarding racial quotas or any other matters relative to Mufreesboro, Tennessee.

Please stop baiting me.

Apparently leaving unconstitutional laws on the books removes the necessity to pass that same legislation again, should the regulated activity later be determined constitutional.
