So I've been thinking about starting a music blog. Not like the kind of blog where you go and jack whatever mp3/wav they're whoring out that day, but a blog you could go to and not only hear some great songs but maybe learn a thing or two as well... Would anyone be interested? As a little sampler of what i'd want to do, here are a few songs that i've been playing endlessly on my ipod throughout the week so far (please excuse my awful spelling haha):

Junior Senior are one of my favorite bands to listen to. They're a duo that create songs that can only be described as a mixture of 80's style rap, Motown breaks and the campy attitude of the B-52's

I've been madly in love with The Hollies since birth, and this songs semi-dark melodies seem to be fitting the season for me.

If you love Peaches or Princess Superstar you will fall madly in love with her - just a warning ;)

Once MJ went through the "change" I got my sugar fix from The Sylvers. Enough said.

A great french artist who has to be the love child between Regina Spektor and Mika. Give him a year and MTV will be playing his songs all over whatever show about rich white girls they're peddling at the time

If you're a big fan of all the psychedelic pop/rock coming out of Australia these days this song will fit in nicely on your ipod...

Sylvester's back up singers turned Weather Girls knew how to turn it out! I'm not big on dancing, but this song can get me up and dancing in my undies any day of the week ;)

Why don't you consider the Entertainment Section here on JUB? I think many of of us would appreciate it. :=D:

we'll see if anyone else says the same thing... i could always post both on here and on a separate blog page. but i'm not sure too many people will want to hear me ramble on and on about music.

I may not like everything you might post but I like being exposed to new music. Besides, you're kinda cute.

aww, thanks! :D I have a wide range of things i'd want to post, and a lot of artists that i know most people haven't heard of before... I don't expect people to like all the songs, but it's always good to educate yourself on things you hate too - right?

and thanks for the nice comment again (*8*)

the only way to know what you like and what you don't like is to here a variety.(!)

When is Roisin Murphy's new album out? i'm really looking forward to it.

Think she had problems with her label and along with her pregnancy have pushed it back to Spring 2010 at the earliest.

I was just joking about her fans in the first place. believe me, the last thing i want to do is start another thread about her[-X. to prove it - here is another couple artists I think people should be aware of (minus comments this time):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHgulPj3lVk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGbTUxrJ6Co

nice selection. my suggestion is maybe only post 2 or 3 at a time and post several times a day instead. people gloss over too many choices.

Omggg I am in love with that song "Shake" you posted in your original post.

Epic.

Oh and you guessed it I am in love with peaches, and Robyn so yeah.

And if you want to keep doing this my only suggestion is to say what artist they are reminesent of. That's the only reason I clicked the one I clicked cuz you said "Peaches"

There could be plenty of future love-of-my-life-songs here but I am way to lazy to search.

Other than that love it

I love it when you post those 70's songs. :gogirl:

well hell you've already helped me find new music! I don't know how I've never heard/seen the video for "Hollywood" by Marina and the Diamonds....I LOVE her...apparently I have a song to go find now...haha

If you like Marina...check out her friend and label mate Ellie Goulding

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Navl4fYI-Zk[/ame]

and for fun...here is Ellie's cover of Robyn's "Be Mine" with Erik Hassle(who is also amazing and you should check out)

oh I don't need any validation from critics...I know what I like...and I LOVE Ellie Goulding :D

I don't walk very usually in this neighborhood, but I've liked this thread

I know lots of people get turned off to all the Britney & Whitney coverage but there's more here. Besides you can make your own contribution to add some variety to the discussions. (*8*)

Bump!

Ok, my contribution, not mainstream to be on topic. What about some Spanish stuff?

My favorite Spanish band, singing with the singer of the most famous Spanish rock band (Heroes del Silencio). This is one of my favorites songs. It was in their last disc :(

I find this couple's works delicious. They are very good by their own, but together...

Some Spanish stuff in English, Marlango, in my opinion one of the best bands appeared in Spain in this decade, with their debut single:

A not very famous song of one of the mythical bands in the 80s in Spain, Alaska y los Pegamoides:

And finally an Italian group Consorzi Suonatori Indipendenti or CSI:
