Sarah Brightman will be the sole singer, with full chorus, full orchrestra.Sarah will sing several of her Arias.Because I'm a WASP I can't have it at ST.Patricks in NYC.It will have to be back in Boston at Trinity Church in Copley Square. It will be spectacular.Anderson Cooper will cover it on CNN.Wentworth Miller will be there balling his eyes out.Steve Sandvoss will be a mess saying"why didn't I give him a chance. And yes,Chance1 will be there with Jesse, but they'll be completely composed[they really never got to know me].....GOD....if this was true I'd die tonight..LOL

"Parce mihi domine" by De Morales - I particularly like the version off the album "Officium"
"Liester Gott, wenn werd ich sterben (BWV 8 )" by J.S. Bach one of the more sad, but by far, one of the most well written cantatas ever to be inked.

I would like my funeral to be a very sombre, reverent occasion.

I'm Catholic, so a simple box, some flowers and a cathedral someplace would be sufficient.

When I was younger (being a control freak) I wanted to plan every detail. Now I really couldn't be bothered. I'll be dead and doubt it will make any difference to me what happens. (I would like it though, if three female impersonators performed "You Gotta Have a Gimmick" from Gypsy.)

Still Gonna Die

by Old Dogs (Waylon Jennings, Bobby Bare, Mel Tillis, Jerry Reed)

I want the whole orchestra/choir deal with Mozart's Requiem...it's ridiculously beautiful.

Or perhaps Brahms' German Requiem for a lighter atmosphere.

But that's only if before I die, I have the feeling that the day I do die will be sad for anyone else.

So maybe Will You Be There (Michael Jackson) would be more "popular". It's the Free Willy movie theme...and I just love it...still...(I was a little kid when I watched the movie...and it's the first Michael Jackson song I really liked)...and it's very repetitive, so I thinks it's perfect...except for the lyrics, but still ok....

I never really gave it much thought, but since I fully intend to have a Mass of Christian Burial in the Roman Catholic Church, (I was born Catholic, and I intend to be buried as one), I want something dignified and pretty traditional.....

Processional (as they roll my casket in) -"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"

After the Eulogy-"On Eagle's Wings"

Communion-"The Prayer of St. Francis" ("Make Me A Channel of Your Peace")

Recessional (as they roll the casket out)- "Going Home" (I think that's the right name of the song...not sure)

The first song I heard as I got into the funeral car,at my dads funeral was "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" by Simon & Garfunkel. So that is my main song @ the Wake.

2nd should be "Sweet Child of Mine " Guns & Roses.

3rd should be .....errr....Frank Zappa song that goes...........'.Don't Boggart that Joint,Past it over to ME '

im young and healthy as a horse and ive already got my funeral planned out. everyone watch the video from My Chemical Romance for "Helena", thats my funeral, danceing may be exluded but i will dance out of my casket.

 Haha. I was thinking of the same song and video. At least you could go out in style.

I would say the Arcade Fire's aptly titled album, "Funeral."

i would start off with some dave matthews band, then delve into the kraftwerk and early bowie. finally, europe's seminal hit "the final countdown" as my casket is hurled into the ocean by a giant trebuchet. and then everyone gets a goody bag when they leave.

Oh man, I love that. The last verse (spoken) tears me up everytime I hear it.

from "Will You Be There" - Michael Jackson

"In our darkest hour
In my deepest despair
Will you still care?
Will you be there?
In my trials
And my tribulations
Through our doubts
And frustrations
In my violence
In my turbulence
Through my fear
And my confessions
In my anguish and my pain
Through my joy and my sorrow
In the promise of another tomorrow
I’ll never let you part
For you’re always in my heart."

I'm much too young to post this old of a song (See lowering of the coffin/urn), but what the hell:

Beginning/Procession into Hall: Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley
Moment of Reflection/Memories: Ameno - Era
Procession to the Grave: Don't Look Back in Anger - Oasis
Lowering of Coffin/Urn: I'm Sitting on Top of the World - Al Jolson

"Bring him home" - Les Miserables (as I'm being carried in)
"Days of our lives" - Queen
"Heaven can wait" - Meatloaf
"Always look on the bright side of life" - Monty Python

For the burial, it'd be anything by Living in a Box or even "Deeper Underground" by Jamouraquai. ;)

"I Did It My Way" sung by Frank Sinatra. To be sung at the conclusion of a lavish memorial service in my honour, held in a grand cathedral and attended by thousands. ..|

At my cremation I would like to hear  :

Radiohead -- Street Spirit (Fade Out)
This Mortal Coil -- Song to the Siren

I'm still thinking about This Is the End by Jim Morrison c.s. but maybe the lyrics are a little bit too much for the mourners.

1) John Tavener's Alleluia - for those of you who watched Princess Diana's wedding, it was the haunting piece at the end. It starts gloomy, but ends on a high note.

2) Bits and pieces from Faure's, Mozart's, Brahms', and Verdi's Requiem. I can't choose just one!

i wish i had a good answer for this, but i really don't. i'll have to come back with one. definitely something from a musical, something from a movie soundtrack, and something from a ballet or other classical piece of music. I'd like a mix of happy and saddish songs. i really don't want my funeral to be a sad thing, but a celebration of my life.
