I just purchased Damien Rice's new cd "9" and I have to say it is really good.

I'm in the mood for some more new music. I like all types, except rap, I have to say, so if you have a cd you can recommend, let me know.

Again, I like everything from Britney Spears to Evanescence to James Blunt and even some italian music.

What do you recommend?

O.A.R. is in my ipod. They have been around for several years.

I own most of their cds. You can't go wrong.

O.A.R. Of A Revolution

Nelly Furtado's Loose.Try this.
You probably hav heard Promiscuous and Maneater but Say It Right is a track to look out for.

and Panic! At The Disco-A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.Try it.

PLACEBO - any album is good.. i like Sleeping With Ghosts
KILL HANNAH -goo stuff.. second album rocks

There's a great website called Pandora - they've completed something I think they call the music genome project, and they have formulas that help you find new songs and artists based on music you like. Check it.

The album Talkie Walkie by Air.
Here's a review that sums it up:
From the twisted psychosis of Sophia Coppola's Virgin Suicides soundtrack to the sprawling, titanium-laced 10000Hz Legend; Air seem to have travelled as far and wide as they're ever likely to from the gentle serenity of their debut Moon Safari. So where to from here? Back to the beginning, of course. Enlisting the aid of Radiohead mega-producer Nigel Godrich may have had many fans anticipating Kid A-style prog meanderings, but Talkie Walkie immediately blows these expectations out of the water with opening track Venus; a gently swirling piano loop easing the listener into 40 minutes of pure aural bliss. And while the alarmingly-pitched vocals of Jean-BenoŒt Dunckel and Nicolas Godin may have you worrying about the state of their loins; by the time Alone In Kyoto (from the Lost In Translation soundtrack) hits you'll be offering thanks to the Gods of chill for this timely return to form.

Here's a number of albums I've liked that have been released this calendar year; I tend to lean towards rock music:

Buckcherry - 15
Rob Zombie - Educated Horses
Janet Jackson - 20 Y O
Audioslave - Revelations
Black Label Society - Shot To Hell
Mastodon - Blood Mountain
Lamb Of God - Sacrament
Iron Maiden - A Matter Of Life And Death

http://www.overthecoals.net/music.html (1600 kicks all kinds of ass)
--anyone know of any other sweet underground rock bands??

From 2005, I really liked:

Mariah Carey - The Emancipation of Mimi
Alice Cooper - Dirty Diamonds

in 2007 I'm looking forward to:

New Ozzy
New Mariah
Hopefully new Black Label Society
Hopefully new Alice Cooper
And hey, wasn't Guns & Roses minus everyone except Axl Rose supposed to be released this fall? :-)

Although you said you don't like rap, I do have to make a recommendation:

Macho Man Randy Savage - Be a Man

Quite possibly the most side-splittingly funny album of the last 3 years! Yes, Macho Man the wrestler put out a rap album. And he lets you know: "Hey, you're that wrestlin' dude?!". "THAT'S RIGHT!!"

James Morrison - Undiscovered
Paolo Nutini - Live Sessions EP or his full length(out in Europe out in Jan in the US)
The Feeling - Twelve Stops & Home
Brett Dennen - So Much More
Val Emmich - Sunlight Searchparty
