It's very popular in Belgium, especially in Aalst. You should look it up on the internet. But I've celebrated it with my boyfriend on the coast because he lives there.
Carnival is an annual festival, in the month of February, involving processions, music, dancing, and the use of masquerade. Dressing up as a group and dancing to win the first prize. You also create your parade, dance, and wagon round a very actual theme in the world. Like political issues, and kind of stuff.
